am4zin
hey, im getting a set of hs33s but ive realised i need to buy seperate gear shifters to keep the two chainrings up front and the 8spd cassette at the back. i've seen quite a few trials bikes with gripshifts, but i cant find any that have a short rubber twisting bit (so it doesnt get in the way) and are also compatible with my shimano derallieur(s). can anyone reccomend anything? cheers, dan

Or put your grip shift on the other side of the lever.
N.Wood
Yep, i use a Shimano compatable Gripshift (Rocket or Attack or soemthing, i forget), anyways you just cut the shifter part down as short as you want it. This doesn't affect shifting at all (as long as you leave ~1.5") and the only trouble you'll face is the gripshift coming apart. This is annoying but it is usually held in place with the grip (a loc-on collar is very useful for this) and you just have to gently untwist it when you remove brake levers etc.
