bikerboysam1
Does anyone know how much the Monty 221 X-Lite weighs, because i am still thinking about buying the Zona Zip but i'm not sure how it will compare weight-wise. I think that my monty is quite a light bike but if i change the frame, forks and rims etc..., i'm not sure if it would gain a lot of weight or maybe loose weight! At the moment i have:Monty 221 X-lite frame (2002)Monty X-lite 20" forksMonty rims/tyres (not sure what)Monty bars/stemMonty Quando Hubsbasically MONTY everythingAnd i am hoping to get:Zona Zip frameEcho Easy forks06 Echo Rimsand i will probably change most stuff in timeThanks, Sam Edited December 2, 2005 by bikerboysam1

chrishayton
who cares, what you sacrifice in weight you gain in strength(usually) geo is far more important that weight, id say keep the monty

bikerboysam1
who cares, what you sacrifice in weight you gain in strength(usually) geo is far more important that weight, id say keep the monty Why, i thought the geo was better on the Zona with the high bb, the longer frame etc... Hobnobs
The monty is a lot lighter, over a pound. (500g) Frame only. The zona has better geometry according to some people, but personally i would stick with the monty. Afterall how many world championships have been won on long bikes (over 1030), ill give you a clue, around about none. If you want a new frame go for the 2006 221Ti. Echo rims would probably be a good upgrade though.

Hobnobs
im sorry but benito ros has won all most every award there is in bike trials on his 1030 wheel base bike ??? Hence i said over 1030 (Y), as that is only considered medium length if you compare it with a zona or python. If you want a 2006 221ti drop me an email and we can sort something out.
