t-mag_rider
I was thinking that a topic on help for newbies, like my self, post anything that you consider useful. Although it may seem the norm to you, it could help someone who is new to trials. Even things such as use white spirit on a cloth to remove old tar, may help some one, or even make sure you keep the lockring tight on your freewheel. Please help the newbies, like me (Y) . Thanks. Beau's pissing on you  I think its a great idea, How about i start the ball rolling? 1) When using V-brakes, To bring pads closer to the rim, Adjust at the calliper rather than the lever to retain a nicer lever feel (Pull cable through) 2) When using Disc brakes, If your pads become contaminated, Use a blowtorch or boil them in hot water to get grease\dirt off 3) When using Magura's with a water bleed in the winter, take care to put some anti-freeze in, I find a half to half ratio with antifreeze is enough, A little bit more anti-freeze is useful, and seems to feel a bit nicer as well :ermm: I think thats a OK start :ermm: Edited December 2, 2005 by deanie-b

BananaLlama
So you mean a thread that's just like www.trashzen.com, no point really, as with proper use of the search virtually anything can be found.
Dan6061
Don't use Meth's to get rid of tar! It'll make your brake shit! Because it leaves this dodgey oil like layer. Use deodrant :- It's scary how well it works... (Y) Edited December 3, 2005 by Dan6061

Up'n'away
Ok, i just went and got a old rim and rubbed some tar on it. Then on one side i rubed it with Meff and on side Linx (Y) Results: Meff - tar came of easy but as you said dan , leaves a greasy surface. Deodrant - Same again very easy to rub off , but doesnt leave it all greasy. i also found it is easier to rub off old tar on a rim, when i freshly rubed it on it was much harder to clean off. so deodrant i would say is defintly better.
