Joel
Hey. I have decided to get a video camera for Christmas. I have around £550 for one. Which one is the best one to get for that money or what is best to get for cheaper and get some accessories? Joel :P
Josh B
i seen some decent accessories today of cap's first off a a tripod that extend's as mutch as 50 inch.It also fits in his bag and would be great when your on your lonesome. Secondly a wide lens that cost him 50 quid we had to go a mile away so we werent in his shot when he was filming lol really does the job. Im also doing the same as you getting a cam for christmastreating my self of course but i think my budget will be more around the £200 mark seen a nice samsung one on offer for £180 in jessops. My best advice could be check ebuyer for accesories and cams. Sorry i carnt help abit more
that NBR dude
Have a browse round Amazon. They have a wide variety of cameras for you to Choose. They have a bargain deal on atm on their Sony DVD203e DVDRAM drive camera at just under £500, which records onto DVD's instead of MiniDV tapes. For something a little more common, a good selection of MiniDV cameras around the £500: Sony DCR-HC90 Canon MVX350 Panasonic NV-GS60 A cheaper camera wont give you much less in terms of features, so some cheaper options at around the £200-300 mark are: Sony DCR-HC22 Panasonic NV-GS21 JVC's compact GR-DF420 I dont know what you want it for, what options you want from it or anything, but theres a good starting list to work through. Its good to compare all the different features of them, and work out whats best suited for what you want it for. Hope this has helped Andy Edited December 1, 2005 by NBRtrials.tk
biketrialler
Basically, you want a camera that has a 3CCD chip, for that money you should just about be able to get one. Much higher quality as essentially you have 3 sensors, one for each main colour (rgb) whereas on a cheaper camera its only 1ccd - 1 sensor that does each, so you get much worse colour reproduction. Get one that uses MiniDV tape - the whole DVD thing is for a consumer that wants to make home movies of the kids for their families to watch - its not really designed for an enthusiast, or I imagine the type of stuff you want to do with it - ie, edit biking videos properly. You also pay top whack for a DVD recording camera, rather than with miniDV you pay for the quality of lenses and colour systems.
