flange
About 4 months ago I was with the mentality that I need a trials bike, a dh bike, a street bike, a jump bike, a road bike and a standing around looking at girls bike. Which got to be a) pointless as some of them I wouldn't ride for over a year and :P very expensive as I had to maintain them all. So I've tried to build something that I can ride street, trials (to my piss poor level), dirt jumps and the BMX track should the mood take me. I've ended up with this Not pretty but I'm finding I ride it a lot more than the other bikes that I've got. If I go to the BMX track or dirt jumping I just swap over the cranks to some trouserfelts (truative) and maybe let some air out the forks. Other than that its ace and definatley progression for someone whose never going to worry the UCI boys. Oh, and I'm running it Single speed for lazyness and its probably for the best if you ignore the seat as its all I had at the time
spode@thinkbikes
I think with a specialist sport such as trials, you need a specialist bike. For a while I used to use my bike for other things, but it was only until I had a dedicated trials bike that I made any progress. I now have a second bike, that started out life being built out of spare trials components, that I use for road riding and XC. I have found that to be a better way. Rich J
that bike looks like it could be useful in most mountain bike disciplines but really you do need a separate bike for trials.
poopipe
I think it looks quite pretty . Theres loads of pigeonholing about riding styles and which bike you need - most of it is complete arse. Obviously a specialist bike will be better suited to a specific type of riding than a general purpose one but to say you can't ride trials on that bike would be wrong. If it were me I'd ditch the bouncy forks and make sure i was running some nice low gearing.
Mark W
What about maybe running some Trailblades on that bad boy? Should complement the frame really well? Giving it a rigid front would make it nicer for trials, makes trails feel awesome, and makes skateparks feel really good too? I'd also recommend maybe getting something like a Fit Series 2 seat/Shadow Conspiracy Slim seat, just 'cos it'll still be nicely padded to sit on but be fairly small so it'll be out of the way? ogre
Would probably work although what i've done in my mixed up world, is i have my trial bike (t-bird) for trials obviously, and then a mtb which i use to get around on, jump occasionaly, and dick about on and look kewl, it's a surprisingly good-looking bike for a saracen! i did have a bmx but i'm flogging that now i just dont have the time! Jules
Like it lots, but i cant see it being very good at trials. More of a streety/jump bike.

flange
Thanks for the compliments chaps If anyone see's me about then you're more than welcome to have a go. Might give the trailblades a shot actually. And that seat does need sorting - its offensive Oh, its got silver deemax's on it now which is nice. Thom
wow you can afford deemax's but not a trials bike ?? anyways that bike is pretty nice, makes me want to ride my norco again. I always thought gimps had that headtube plate gusset thing ? I think it looks much better without it. Maybe try some v brakes ?
Brian Bleech
really nice bike there dude! (Y) What about maybe running some Trailblades on that bad boy? Should complement the frame really well? Giving it a rigid front would make it nicer for trials, makes trails feel awesome, and makes skateparks feel really good too? I'd also recommend maybe getting something like a Fit Series 2 seat/Shadow Conspiracy Slim seat, just 'cos it'll still be nicely padded to sit on but be fairly small so it'll be out of the way? totally agree with mark on this one though - a set of rigids will make it feel nicer for trials/dirt/park
flange
Again - thanks for the input. Set of trailblades now ordered from Wiggle and on their way (Y) Norco-trials - I could afford to get a pure trials bike but I probably wouldn;t use it enough to warrent spending a shit load on one. In doing this, I can use the bike for a number of purposes. Although like they say, jack of all trades, master of none. Oh, and the deemax's came off my 4x bike
