bikerboysam1
I've heard from at least one person that you can't get any v'brakes that'll fit around a 3" wide tyre. Is this true? Thanks, Sam
Rich J
i think some types will fit but you will have to put on the wheels then put on the brake in parts because the wheel wont fit between the pads or at least i think it wont. _skj0lsvik_
Well, you`ll have to use a wide rim atleast...
N.Wood
You could have fun with spacers and go wild. In theory, yeh you could if you set them up right, but in practise it's probably a bit on the shady side.
petit_pablo
I think you would be pushing it to find a rim brake that would fit a 3" tyre. Thats assuming your frame can take a 3" tyre too.
Will Arnold
the width isnt an issue really, its the height of the tyre you have to look out for
Dan6061
What 3" tyre would this be? Just out of interest...

chrishayton
for a start dont buy a 3 inch tyre, theres no need at all, too heavy too wide and sluggish. get a 2.5 maxxis (for trials dh or jumping) or sumthing like dmr motos if its jumping or street

Zoo_Monkey
i run my pashley street/park/dj with a v-brake it just fits round my 2.4 dmr moto on a planet x bmf i used to run a tecktro but every time the cable stretched a little after a ride or two it would rub on the tread. i now have a avid single digit with longer arms, its fine but id never get a 3 in there! and esp not a gazza! as has been said - a 3 for dj is over kill  you don't need it, and a gazza? you want to look at halo twin rails, dmr moto's and maxxis holy rollers or anything 2.2 - 2.4 with a similar tread pattern - run at 60psi+ trust :D
spunkey_monkey_boy
i used to run one on the back of my dirt bike and you cannot get a normal v to work, as will said its the heigh of the tyre thats going to f**k you. you can however get special v brake arms that will fit but they're expensive and pointless, if your doing dj get a set of maxxis hookworms, a local lad had them on his brooklyn machine works and its was a beast both on and off the tarmac... shovel
3" wide tyres are a bit excessive, 2.5" is more than enough
