spode@thinkbikes
Hi Guys, I thought I may as well post a link to a video we've just finished. It was recorded this summer. It's not great as we were both a bit out of practice before we started filming, but I'm got some videos on my computer of some of you guys as beginners and I still like watching them occasionly for inspiration before I go riding. So by all means take a look! I don't think it puts us in particuarly good light as we've both moved on a lot since filming. My KOT MS2 just arrived, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that affects things. Will make a big change compared to an Orange Zero! http://www.thinkbikes.com/media/thinkbikespromo.avi It's 50MB and encoded in in DivX. The first track is "Fuel" by Reculver/House of Flies. They are friends of mine who are about to release a single - so go out and buy it!! www.reculver1.com I wouldn't visit the website yet, as I have yet to develop anything. :)
Tomm
Wow that was awsome. Some of the noserolls by the guy on the Reefer (?) were awsome. And a 540 G-turn at the end? Blimey. Download everyone :) The video looks like it's about 5 years old, and that's a good thing in my eyes. Not a drop-gap sight. That Kot is gonna really f**k you up... spode@thinkbikes
That's a Mission Reefer would you believe! And that's Dave (not a member). Yeah, he's pretty good at those :) I've seen him do those forever. Is there a record for the longest nose roll? (I call them roll backs mind you) If not, I reckon he could set it. What do you mean by it's gonna **** me up. As in I won't be able to ride as well? The BB rise is imense in comparison to that orange. It feels like I'm wearing high heels riding a bike! Just gotta sort a back brake out. Edited November 28, 2005 by Spode
Tomm
I call them rollbacks too, but I didn't think that was the prefered term :) If you wanna add me to MSN, I've got a video of some guy doing a "rollback" for aaaaaages. It's called amazing_nose_wheelie.avi, and I've not been able to find it online (recenetly). If your mate could beat that I would be seriously impressed. And it's gonna f**k you up because it's about a foot longer than an Orange Zero (OK, that's a slight exaggeration but you get the point), and it won't be half as good for all that spinny shizzle. manxrider
:) Really good video. Sooooo old skool. Nice synchronized riding
spode@thinkbikes
I've got the 1065 version of the frame and my wheelbase is 1070. That's around 60mm longer than when I had my zero. I love the zero for spinny things etc. That's what I prefer to do, I'm a demo rider more than a trials rider. I find a lot of videos I see very boring, riders just spending their life on the backwheel. And I'm not in to big drops and gap drops either (to be honest, I'm scared of hurting myself, I already have a history of back problems..). It's not my style. However, I do find the zero REALLY hard work on the backwheel. It's a real effort to keep it up. So I was hoping the KOT would help with that. If it doesn't work out, I'll sell it :) But I really like the disc mount mechanism on the KOT. Although my M4 doesn't fit (grrr). Actually, I found this the other day. It's rather old (2002?) but if you're bored  http://www.spodesabode.com/misc/spodemtb.avi I've been riding Zero's since 2000, so it's gonna be strange to get rid of it. spode@thinkbikes
all the vids now seem to be about who can do the biggest sidehop, that just makes me want to go ride, I'm so on the same page as you! I don't even KNOW how high I can side hop and to quite frank, I don't care. I'm more interested in the application of the side hop skill :) I'm glad you liked the video. I have to say, I was really starting to lose faith in riding until you said that!
MaXsteri
That was absolutely awesome :) Were parts of that filmed in Hastings?
spode@thinkbikes
Cheers! Yeah, some of it was in hastings.
PhenoVenom
I loved the that there were some very cool lines (instead of sidehop, switch place, gap etc.) and the sync riding, come to think of it I loved EVERYTHING about this vid. That bench gapping line was cool, without any correction hops :) Those rollbacks too, just keeps it going... I give 10/10 to this vid. 100 x better than any zoo vids. petit_pablo
That vid was brilliant!!! I want to go out and practise that mad trackstand!
SQuiT-man
That vid was really good, liked it a lot. Hows the trials scene in Hastings? The last time I went there was a year and a bit ago, when I went with family, and was just starting to get more serious about trials. I was walking along the seafront, around some of the lines in that vid, and I seem to remember seeing a beginner guy messing about on an 04 t-pro (the bike I wasnted at the time- it looked amasing to me back then, cos I wanted one so much!), but what really caught my eye were two stock riders at the seafront, one riding a sweet black Planet X, and the other was either riding a silver levelboss, or a silver zero- I cant remember which, I was looking more at the planet X. Do you know who those guys would have been?
spode@thinkbikes
I don't know mate. I only ride with a select few people to be honest (mainly because I don't know that many riders!). But I think I've met up with some of the guys in Hastings before. The riding is not too bad there. It all depends on what you're looking for!
Luke Drewery
Awesome video! Probably the best one on this page, simply because it has a lot of variety and style in it. It didnt get repetitive at all and I watched it attentively all the way through, rather than being bored after the first minute. Such a good contrast to what most people are doing today. Double discs seem to have gone from popular back when this video was made to unpopular and now they are cropping up on montys, KOT frames (disc mount) etc again. Top video. :)
grantham
Awesome video, reminds me how fun riding like that used to be. Those roll backs were really good as well.
