MaXsteri
I currently run my stem as below. Which feels nice for manuals, but looks stupid and i'm sure it doesn't do me any favours on the back wheel. My bars are low rise Easton EA50's which i would prefer not to change, but i would change if people recommend a stem that only comes in oversize clamp. My questions are what length/rise does everyone else run? and are there any stems out there that come in a length/rise to give me something similar to what i currently use but without the stackers? Ash-Kennard
what stem/ride/length is the stem? just buy the echo hifi stem with zoo! riser bars. you can't really go wrong
MaXsteri
Is that what you run then? The stem is 80mm long, but i dont know the rise. Its 11cm from the top of the headtube to the top of the stem :)
Ash-Kennard
nah ive get the azonic ORC stem, 90mm, 5rise+azonic double walls, with 1.5 rise. but im soon to change. the onza stem on tarty is good too. Dan-Walker
zoo riser bars and the echo stem which has 5 rise and 100mm in length i think, thats what i want anyway.
lankyri
i used to ride a onza bar and stem with the stem looking like a mod stem (but it wasent) and it felt really nice to bunny hop, then ian sold me his carbon onza bars and flat stem i could not bunny hop no more but my gaps and wheeliehops improved and still are my say is if you want to run a decent bar and stem combo then either onza carbon bar and the pz something stem or zoo bar and stem hope this helps ric

MaXsteri
Okay so the hifi stem everyone reckons? Or when you say "the echo one" do you mean the control? 100*5? The hifi seams like my current set-up but that still leaves me with 3 options: 130mm length, 15 degree rise 130mm length, 30 degree rise 145mm length, 25 degree rise So which one? I'm guessing the 30 rise is most like my current set-up, but does that provide the best compromise between the two extremes? or am i just being too anal? I mostly ride street trials i guess with the occasional natural if that makes any difference Edited November 29, 2005 by MaXsteri
Ash-Kennard
130mm length, 15 degree rise my personal favourite, too much can totally wreck the feel of the bike.

Clarky
zoo riser bars and the echo stem which has 5 rise and 100mm in length i think, thats what i want anyway. Thats what ive just ordered for my coustellier wich is almost same feel as a t-rex so yes i tihnk thats got to be the best bar and stem. clarky
durkadurka
i have try - all bars with a road racing stem of 0 degree rise. 120 mm long. proper low front end it has increased my sidehop ability no end. altho, i really find 10" over bar hard with no tap. takes a bit of gettin used to what with your shoudlers aching and stuff. adzy!
