Waynio
a simple matter of a fact for you. "whats in there, is in there for a reason" Waynio..............................
Janson
you could say that about the ringdrive grease in king hubs aswell... i prefer the feel of water, though i am sure it will ruin my brake eventually.. i think i'll snap the lever or something before i kill the brake due to use of the wrong fluid. we trials riders are like that, we sacrifice some of the lifespan of our gear, for a performance boost out of it, it's just like drilling rims, using light oil in hubs, grinding rims etc.. but i do remember not having to rebleed as frequently when running magura blood. to be honest though, water feels so much nicer... Tony Harrison
My 2005 Magura's are powerful and snappy with Magura oil. Never had a problem with it. If you set the brakes up well, re-bleed as soon as they get a bit sluggish, then they'll stay in good condition. You won't have problems with damaged seals, freezing water or anything else. shovel
re-bleed them with magura blood, that way you won't void your warranty so if there are any more problems with the pistons you can return the brakes and get them fixed
Clarky
ok, thanx for the advice lads i will bleed them with the correct fluid. clarky
Prawny Baby
a simple matter of a fact for you. "whats in there, is in there for a reason" Waynio.............................. i totally agree wayne! and that reason is simple.... magura havnt worked out that theyre brakes work better with a water based fluid than tehy do with oil! (water with a touch of antifreeze) simple
ben_travis
also, i doubt magura would be able to sell water to bleed their maguras with, magura blood is another product that we have to purchase, its not cheap to those who dont work in the industry. water is pretty much free, and would mean magura wouldnt get as much money, im sure they could produce seals to handle water but never will :)

Prawny Baby
i used finishline 2.5wt shock oil for a while.... that was pretty nice, i think you can also get 1wt shock oil.... which in thoery is the same thickness as water....
