When taking the pedels of i noticed that the crank insert which you screw the pedels into fell out. Well the back half fell out. Ive tryed just crewing it back in but it dosnt work. And the other half is stuck on my pedel axel. :'( I am not a happy bunny. has anyone got any ideas on how to mend the situation before i go MAD. Caleb
Put the triangular top sectioon of the insert in a vice and slowly tighten the vice and testing if you can extract the pedal, and repeat until able to get it out. try soaking the threads in wd4o or gt85 etc
Will Arnold
just araldite the lockring into the crank, let it set, then take the pedal off as usual (Y) simple
Mark W
Hoooooooold the f**k on (Y) Go to a hardware shop. Buy some Araldite (worked for every insert for me, before anyone says "Nah, araldite/epoxy resin is shit"). Take the pedal off, which means the insert will come off too. Mix the epoxy resin/araldite as directed. Apply to inside threaded part on crank arm, and on the insert itself. Screw back in. Wait for it to dry. Take your pedals out. Sorted. Mine haven't had backplates for ages. They don't matter, 'specially if you've glued the inserts in. Just make sure you've cleaned the threads first. flower
Cheers ill try that but when i try to get the insert out with pedel it feels REALLY stiff like its tying to cross-thread it self. Shall i keep undoing it or try something new?
