Eno Vs Echo Freehub

i have had a eno freewheel for about 6 month now it has never skipped badly. i have never heard much about the echo hub but wat i have heard is that they are good

Virtually no-one's actually used one, let alone used one for any length of time, so no-one knows how good it is.

Personally, my Eno's been excellent. You need to strip 'em after a month or so to get rid of the excess grease from the sealed bearings that oozes onto the pawls and springs, and after that they're usually fine. If you want even snappier engagement, just bend the springs back a little.

I'd recommend getting the Eno.

My mate has an adamant full build he's had it for about two /three weeks it has the echo hub on the back so i have had a go with it i think it engages faster than a profile but does'nt feel as smooth as a king but the problem is it skips more than a profile but feels nicer. The other option would be get an eno freewheel i have no idea about these freewheels so people saying "yeah get an eno i've got one it never skips" isn't really helping me. please i need to Know about engagements and how long they last and which eno i should get.

Thanks in advance Gavyn

i plan on getting an eno when i have the money (bloody boss taking a holiday) but i'd suggest the trials specific one (bit obvious realy)

yer i thought it would be obvious to but i another post there was something about the trials one being weaker than the bmx one

think it was because the trials one has four pawls 2 of which work at the sametime giving it more engage ments at the cost of less strengh

the bmx one also has four pawls but all of them engage at the same time giving only 36 engagements but being twice as strong

if memory serves....

the eno trials freewheel has 6 pawls and 72 engagements

now the maths....

if you put an eno on the front you get 72 engagements

if you put the echo hub on and run 18-12 gearing you actually get 98 engagements at the pedals

i've had a fight with onzaboymark about this in the past and he was right

going the echo route means you end up forking out a lot of cash - say 120 for the hub, 40 for a rim, 20 quid for the spokes and build, 15 quid for a front sprocket = 195 quids.

compare that to 85quid (which is the most expensive I've seen) for an eno and your decision is made for you ...

theres also the fact that i cant find an echo hub for sale anywhere yet.
