ogre
I've not had my bike long (2/3 weeks methinks) and the back tyre slips at anything, i couldn't even hop up a high curb without my tyre rollin back with a super ugly high squeal, i've tarred my rims and ordered a booster (onza carbon fibre) could someone recomend decent brake pads? Simpson
On a fresh rim ZOO! greens low wear rate but will be an instant problem solver and will last an ok time with no grind
Dan6061
Plaz CRM's, light grind, no tar. Sorted :turned:
t-mag_rider
I would recomend zoo! pads, the green ones, on an unground rim. Hope I help. Ollie EDIT:Beaten to it. Edited November 21, 2005 by t-mag_rider
JT!
See the pad thred in trials chat. I assume your still using the kool stops that came with the bike / magura. So anything will be better really. I'm a big fan of the zoo pads. A little tar and zoo pads is the best setup i have tried. Heatsink, koxx bloxx, zoo pads. All good pads. wolfie
I’d recommend the same as everyone else, Zoo pads perhaps with a bit of tar. :turned:

Thurston
Koxx blocks on a non-ground rim with a slight line of tar, does the job everytime (Y)

lankyri
what ever you do do not get the zoo pads they are too soft that pieces of your pad fall off every so often even on a smooth rim and dont argue with me just ask flower simp. if your running a smooth rim then id have to say koxx bloxx pads or heatsink if your running a grind then also i recommend koxx boxx or heatsinks i also have a carbon booster and its great be aware though for the first few rides your pads will move and the mounts will be loose but after a couple of rides its great heat sinks on a grind (dead) and tar amazing mate :P
shovel
clean off all that tar from the rims and put a nice harsh grind on the rear rim accompanied by some heatsink blue pads, i've been running this for a while and never have any problems with the brake, the pad wear rate is also very good on a harsh grind it also helps if the brake is set up well, you want to have the pads square to the rim so when the lever is pulled the pad makes full contact with the centre of the braking surface, this will reduce the spongy feel of the lever and make it work alot more effectively if you need any help on grinding rims do a search for "grind" or "rims" etc and you'll find some decent info
rickyb
Heatsink blue's are rubbish in the wet or damp weather :P go for koxx bloxx (brown) they are the best this time of year with the wet conditions they hold a lot better than crm's and any heatsink pads. Also get somone to grind your rim so theres no need to use tar :P hope I helped :P rickyb
Martin Grainger
Koxx blocks on a ground rim, with or without tar. or Zoo pads on a non-ground rim with a little bit of tar. I use the top one and it works perfect but would like to use the bottom because it is a very nice brake set up (i have tried it)
rickyb
The only bad thing about zoo pads is the ware rate the are gone in a few rides thats if you run a grand with on your rim but i dont think it's worth not having a grind just for the sake of the pad's. rickyb
Martin Grainger
Their meant to work really well on a grind but the wear rate is ridiculous but with a non grind and tar it is meant to work really well aswell.
rickyb
Or looking at tartybikes the new echo pink and reds are pritty much the same as the zoo pads but with a slitly stronger compound so that would give you better ware rate on the pads but will decrease the grip power of the pads so they should be good on a grind :P And with the added pimpness of pink pads is always a good adition to your bike :P but a review would be worth looking at before you buy the echo pads. rickyb
Thurston
Koxx blocks on a ground rim is a hell of a lot better than a non-ground rim with tar. Mabye in your eyes but seeing as i havent got a ground rim i use koxx blocks with tar on a non- ground rim.
poopipe
just set it up properly Im running standard koolstops on an unground onza rim and my brake doesnt slip much at all. It will slip if i drop/gap off something more than about 3 or 4 feet high but thats easily sorted with a bit of tar.
Jules
Get some plazmatic CRM's or koxx brown, grind your rim, get someone/learn hot to set up your magura properly and your away :P Hope i helped
tomo
I find that koxx browns are realy good especially on a grind. I try`d the zoo pads the other week on a realy soft grind and they are amazing to but they were gone in about two days. So i reckon your best bet is koxx browns on a good grind. :P
