sUm
cheers for replys what does amputate mean thou? cheers Lol it means to remove your legs, it was meant as a joke (I hope lol). Definitely sounds like you either need a longer frame or a longer stem.

Only way to solve it is longer bar n stem; such as Zoo! ste-up, or a longer frame.

ScotchDave
Cut off, decapitate, remove etc. Decapitation is actually a specific form of amputation involving the head. Edited November 22, 2005 by div

totaltrials
I seriously wouldnt carry on wacking your leg especially if it's bruised, it will lump up and you could I suppose set off cancer or damage your leg for good. I use a shin pad with a gardening pad taped under it and put it on my thigh, it's streched a lot so I can strap it onto my thigh, I will take some pictures tommorrow for you, I can't ride without it. Rossi
I used to wear a shin pad as well. Thigh used to get some right hassle from the bars before the shinny. Talk about bruises :turned: Then one day, I stopped hitting it, and I rarely hit the thigh now. I've had the same bar/stem combo for as long as I can remember, but my thigh doesn't get thwacked anymore whatsoever. Tapping was the main culprit, think I just changed technique slightly and it worked a treat. But wrapping a shinny round yer thigh helps if you do suffer. Managed to bend the inserts in my shin pad, it took loads of abuse. Rossi.
jamesb
I have a major problem with this too. It seems that whenever I land the move and do it correctly I do not hit. It is when I mess up that I get bruises. Consistency....
Janson
i do it from time to time on taps. i remember discussing the risk of cancer from hitting the thigh, and we concluded that we need massive stickers on frames that say "Trials causes cancer" or something... I hit the thigh the most when i pussy out on taps, or do not hold my arms straight enough.
JIX
I did use to get it with my zero. But like has been said if you do whatever your trying properly then it shouldnt really happen I dont think. When I got a zebdi it never happened.
