Bucky
the speed limit is set to the level that is required for the safety of the others, which is no joke.i've been driving for over 4 years, and i still think that you have no ground to stand on. if you'd hit someone and killed them, would it still be a joke? i'm amazed by the attitudes some people take to driving...it's a privilege, not a right. if you abuse it, don't complain when you get caught, there's hundreds of other people on the road to consider, not just yourself and the fact that you want to drive fast. out of interest for me this time, how long have you been driving for?arse...iv gonna sound like such a dick when i tell you my track record but i drive at or around mine and my vehicles limits.i got 9 points and banned for 2 months for demoliting a lampost and sign when i slide out on ice 6 days after passing my test. 2 weeks after that i was coming round a corner in my new van and decided i was going too fast so braked ..... on the corner and hit the curb at 40mph.a few weeks ago i was coming up to a roundabout at around 65mph and some silly bat decided to pull out on me i slammed (pumping pedal to stop locking up) on and stopped miles away from her.i like my driving and i dont get many complaints from passengers. MrSuave
For what its worth, i belive the motorway limits should be increased to at least 80mph, weve had a 70mph limit for over 30yrs, cars have progressed so much, so should the limits we abide by. Note i said the motorway limit, 30mph in and around towns is ample and i personnaly try not to speed in these areas, however on the motorway i feel quite comfortable doing 90-100mph. Also, motorway speed limits should be time variable. ie. increased by 10mph between 10pm-5am. In The USA, if your caught speeding in roadworks and there working you get a hefty fine, however if its out of working hours, they are far more leniant, a good idea me thinks. Just my little input. Swize
On friday driving home from work, was coming down the M57 and at the very end there is road works with a 40mph limit. Theres no lane narrowing etc so the road is exactly the same. Well anyway I was doing 65mph and an un-marked vectra pulled me. The result is 3 points and £60 fine. Just wanted to know who else has been robbed, what the result was and how it effect insurance etc??Also I hear theres a posibility of doing a driving safely course and not having the points??? or something?Could it be pass plus? ThingyI think thats the website for them??Anyway unlucky, Sam
