Joe_Elding
Hi, I have recently just fitted a '05 magura louise to my front and it was fine when i first got it with the right lever reach that i liked and stuff. But the i took the rotor off as i got a new hub, and when i put it back on the new one the lever went in really far until it locks, I know that they aren't contaminated as i boiled both rotor and pads before i put them back on. any suggestions of how to move the pads constantly in? What i noticed about the pads is they had become magnetic after boiling them? Maybe they'repelling against the disc meaning them to further back increasing lever reach? Or do i just need to rebleed? grantham
could be a re-bleed problem, but did you use the washers to align the calliper properly? Also you can adjust the lever reach slightly on some models, there should be a black cap on the lever, take this out and adjust with an allen key. Krisboats
Yes there is a black cap on the very end of the lever, obviously not the end your finger holds onto. this will adjust how the brake feels. Also quite often mine feels quite squidgy until i lift up the front wheel so the lever is lever and pull it a few times, then it seems to get its normal nice feel back, which i reckon means mine needs rebleeding. Also the pads are magnetic, thats how they stay in. there were magnetic when you took them out and are still magnetic when you put them back in, quite a cool idea and one that i had never seen until i bought my louise not long ago. They are only magnetic towards the piston bits though so they aren't "repelling" against the rotor, also if the pads were containated they wouldn't make the lever pull all the way to the bar, they would still feel the same but with a lot less grip/power. firstly i would try using the reach adjuster on the lever, if it doesn't work come back and let us know. nafan
My mate just got his new 05 t-mag and he said his came right to the lever but after he'd pulled it about 30-40 times it adjusted itself! :D Well I hope you get it done (Y) :P Instead of crushing your fingers :turned: OWWW! That hurts! :P
