Mark W
Remember that guy who drilled out his frame? This is Eastern's new BMX frame. Intriguing.
Luke Drewery
Nice idea but wont grit and water invade the headset/BB bearings? <_<
Bendee
Aparantly they got a nascar race engineer to get rid of bits they didnt need hence the reason for the big holes. Weighs less than 4 pounds too witch is a good 2 pound lighter than your average bmx frame.
Sponge
I suspect that some parts of the bike will be very vulnerable to corrosion, seeing as BMXs are like 90% steel components. I really don't see whats the point, aren't BMXs for strength? I see people on the streets pulling off countless 360 bunnyhops to nosepick etc. etc. and people on the dirt and vert doing pretty impressive stuff.... The drilled BB shell is just taking it a bit far, I bet there'll be some serious corrosion issues there in the BB system, if this frame is used for dirt riding especially. Looks gash and probably will break sooner than an Onza T-Comp frame when used for BMXing. <_<
Tom Booth
liking the seat clamp intergrated into the seat tube, and the stupidly small seat tube poking out. baaaada bap bap baaahh, im loving it
Mark W
And a lb less than a lot of trials frames people are using now, and that's full on steel there <_< Apparently, it'll come with little plastic inserts to cover the gaps. trialsguru
i think its good to see companies developing the designs. most bmx frames are pretty much fly bikes copies now a'days with a slightly different paint job and a different rider signature infront of it. people thought that the koxx frames looked stupid without a seat when they came out, now people cant get enough of the seat less frames! Bendee
If it was used as a pure park frame then there wouldnt be any problems with rust and dirt so its not all bad. But then again only a dick would buy such a frame, you can build a bmx up to be plenty light enough with all the kit thats out nower days. Mark W
Although, saying that... Pegs I'm guessing would probably not be so hot on that thing? Not to mention dinging it on sub-boxes, etc. Bikes can be too light though? Having nothing to throw around sorta feels funny. I had a go on a light XC bike and it just felt wrong <_<
Ben Geary
looks nice but i don't really like the seat tube how it's cut of at the top. <_<

Mark W
For XC? I just meant it felt all skittery and shit, so when you tried riding it fast over slightly rough ground it just didn't give any nice feedback to you at all? I'm obviously not saying "Where's me anvils, I want mor weight", but I feel you can get a bike that's too light?
mat hudson
i think all xc bikes feel twitchy, especially with narrow flat bars and long stems. it feels like you push the bars round rather than turning them and that feels orrible. I can see where you're coming from and I suppose there is a limit in some disciplines where you want a bit of weight but for XC you want as light as possible really <_<
boon racoon
try a disaster to tailwhip on a 40lb bmx <_<

PaRtZ
i think all xc bikes feel twitchy, especially with narrow flat bars and long stems. it feels like you push the bars round ...blah blah blah... You need to ride my kona :) and if its twitchy then just tighten the headset B) As for the BMX i agree with all the negative shizzle posted im afraid. I cant see it being strong enough or corrsion resistant, especially in winter now, loads of grit gna get inside it. I do think that it is good they're trying though, so big up to Eastern for trying <_< Edited November 20, 2005 by PaRtZ
Simpson
I trust bike companys they have brought in some uber pro dude who oboiusly is more experienced on weight loss and has a degree and is a top bloke and was hand selected, and if hes made plastic inserts for the holes sounds well good im all for it. But hole in biikes? you have to be a bit nutty to put your faith as a test rider lol

Roads are also typically hard-surfaced. Rough trails and singletrack isn't smooth, nor is it hard. It was in those sorts of conditions that the XC bike I was riding felt all skittery and weird, just because it was so light it just sorta bounced from bump to bump, in a not-so-good way... Never mind though, BMX is what we're talking about :ermm: Who was it who disaster to whip back in Boon? I saw a photo of it in Dig or Ride last month, but can't remember who did it. Maaaaaaad tech, anyway...
