Trials mama
juicy 5 sounds promising is it better then the bb7 eddie
CurtisRider
hell yes it is! i had a bb7 with nokon cable and an ultimate lever and it has nothing on the juciy-however the bb7 was an incredible brake and i would go back if i had to basically the juicy wont overheat like the bb7 which i found to be a huge advantage, as well as that really nice lever-its well designed :) bb7 if you on a budget, juicy if you want the best (i prefer them to mono trials, etc)
Trials mama
cheers paul, wel it looks like its a juicy 5 then unless any of you bad boys can throw any thing else at me :) eddie
Lawnmowerman
Ive got a minto 165 gothic hope mini you can have for £50?
Ali C
ok, I have a 180 magura marta caliper (160 virsions are easier to get at cheaper prices though) and a shimano xt lever. I got my caliper from the shop I work at trade price for £35........there are often 160mm martas on ebay for about £40 onwards for a full disk. I then got a shimano xt lever off ebay for £9 I am using standard maggie hosing and a mix of maggie and shimano fittings, they woulod cost about £10 at most. You can pick up rotors on ebay for about £20 so that totals at £74 for a mint brake!! It just takes a little patience to wait for the parts to come up. oh, and to whoever said magura disks are shit..... I presume you used the older virsions? they did have a habbit of leaking and pumping up. The newer maggies are MUCH better, very powerful. Another key point to maggies that is often over looked is that the hose goes directly in the top of the caliper, making it very hard to hit and damage.....unlike hopes and avids which have a 90degree connection on the side of the caliper. I hit my hope on on my 2nd ride, and it undid the bolt, causing fluid to go all over my disk and pads!!
Trials mama
that sounds pretty funky, but because im a virgin i think ill go for something simple and new, jsut for the pure fact im bound for f**k something up lol thanks alot for your imput guys eddie
Waddy
ali's brake is immense 10x better than my hope mono trial :) get a marta off crc for £99.99 best brake iv ever had. i had it for over a year and didn't have to touch it. sam Edited November 19, 2005 by wad
Trials mama
i was tempted by the marta, but i have felt a bb7 and they are just so imense, and if the juicy is the same but without th gayness of cable then that seems to be the way. At the mo it is possibly the marta or the juicy eddie
Ali C
I havnt been too impressed with the juicys that have come on bikes in for repairs in my shop......seem to be on the same par as shimano disks, looads of modulation but no bite...................amazing lever feel though, really comfy
CurtisRider
mines full of bite, more than the bb7 was-and that had damn good bite must be poorly setup/not fully bedded in ali? or maybe im lucky B) everyone else who owns one seems to like them <_< im liking the idea of mixing and matching brake parts, i may give it a try :)
Trials mama
damn it, i have one person saying the juicies rock and another saying they dont <_< what to do
Ali C
shame the avids are dot fluid, otherwise I would have put one on my marta (although the levers are £100 each!!!) would be cool with an avid lever on a rear hayes 160mm mag caliper, that would be amazing. Prawny Baby
from my experience matt, id go witht eh juicy 5 for sure! the juicy seven ive felt was just out of this world.... and if the juicy 5 is the same with a little less adjustment.... its GOT to be insanely good.... and yourf putting it on a mod anyway! i would go with a 185mm juciy 5! £84.99 on CRC just dont get a 160 though! its a waste of time <_<
Tomm
the juicy seven ive felt was just out of this world.... and if the juicy 5 is the same with a little less adjustment.... its GOT to be insanely good.... and yourf putting it on a mod anyway!
