N.Wood
Practise practise practise... Also, think tuck. Sidehopping wise, go on a ride and ask a nice, semi-decent person to show you how to do it. if you can't get on rides, watch plenty of vids. Ash-Kennard
tom, you've been riding under 4months and you complaining about not getting to back wheel 5!!! 4 is amazing for the time you've been riding. just keep practising and you'll get there mate, may take a while due to it being a major step up. Try and get 5 pallets to backwheel dialed, any higher than that you will have to start using taps.
lovatt
It sounds to me as if you havent learnt to tap yet? What you need to to is find a wall which is the same size as the pallets if not a bit bigger. All you have to do is do exactly the same as if you were going to back wheel it, but keep your front end down and tap the corner of the wall with your front wheel as you go up. Dont worry it will take time so be patent. As for side hope i find the best way is to get balanced next to the wall then when your are, get onto your back wheel and strait away go up to a side hop. Try to mover forward when you do and go to your front wheel, that way your front break will pull u up much like and endo. That way you carry the momentum into the side hope. Make sure that you tuck your body into your bike. This way you will get much higher faster. hope this helps :P lovatt :D
lankyri
when you say back wheel four crates which way is this i.e. pedal hop, wheeliehop or bunnyhop and dont worry mate patience is the key i can backwheel four (wheeliehop and static) any higher i go to bash but if you go at a slightly faster speed and patience you will do it, as for me i find it hard to go fast but im still practicing everyday of the week you can do it :D ric and four months well done mate :P :'( (Y)

poopipe
5 pallets is about 2 and a half foot right? pretty damn good going for 4 months riding imo Like everyone else says - learning to tap will help. Obviously tapping can get you up higher but it also clears up all those little doubts about exactly how far from the wall you want to be when you give it the big kick. I got a lot more confident with backwheeling after learning to tap, it gave me the balls to add a bag load more power to my kicks - which gets you more height. cookie456_the2nd
Take off as late as possible, almost as if your going to tap, but dont :(
SQuiT-man
Just exaggerate your movements to the extremes when you attempt stuff, and put all of your power into them. Before kicking up to go to backwheel, lower yourself as low as possible, then throw yourself up as high as possible when you lift the frotnwheel, then tuck the bike up as high as you possibly can. With a load more practice, you should be able to get to about handlebar height before youlearn to tap :(

craigjames
i'm in the same situation, i've bin riding bout 4months and am stuck at about 2 foot, think thats about four pallets, what takes the mick is on my street bike i can bunnyhop and clear 3 foot. dunno what the problem is!! one thing is that i've got no one round here that i can really watch and help me with technique. if you've got someone round you who rides to a good level just watch them and ask them to give you a few pointers after watching you. i don't seem to be able to throw the bike forwards and upwards like i've seen people in videos do. think thats the key to the big heights people can get up.
