Rob_P
No matter what you've heard about them, there great. So simple to use, value for money, there flexible in the way you can use them. Like I use my 20gb photo to transfur all my college work but have all my music with me all the time too. Its great. So simple and effective, the batts last ages too. Most of the time mines got atleast 3/4 of batt cus it charges itself when it's plugged into the pc. Mine was £190 from amazon. Get one! *waits for rowan to reply :D

Havent had any trouble with it braking down (Y)

Tomm
I like the idea of a video iPod. I always thought (as I'm sure lots of people do) that video on a small handheld thing like that is pointless. But I'm all turned around now I can play videos on my PDA, it's really good - I can sit on the bus and watch trials videos (Richard III is my favourite at the moment (Y) ). And it was under £100, and is a touch-screen MP3/video player. I probably wouldn't use it very much if I didn't spend a lot of time on a bus/train/in a car (as a passenger (Y) ) though. Trebor
I've had an I-Pod Shuffle since the summer - I love it, easy to charge on the USB 2.0, lasts a good 12 hours - never had any problems (Y)
Siders77
Does the Shuffle-ness not annoy you? Or can you turn it off?
Haz
You can have straight play I think, but you stil can't see the track data, so it may aswell be random. (Y)
tipsy Jock
You can have straight play I think, but you stil can't see the track data, so it may aswell be random. (Y) I didn't think you could, shuffles just annoy me generally really. i like ipods, but i like my Zen micro better (Y)
Haz
I didn't think you could, shuffles just annoy me generally really. i like ipods, but i like my Zen micro better (Y) DJ Your Day If you prefer cycling to a hip-hop soundtrack and snowboarding to a little electronica, Autofill iPod shuffle from a specific iTunes Playlist and roll. Download an album from the iTunes Music Store and listen to it in order before you Shuffle it into your collection. Or just drag and drop individual songs and podcasts from iTunes onto iPod shuffle. With Play in Order mode, you manage the music. If things take a turn for the predictable, never fear. Turn iPod shuffle over, flip the slider to Shuffle and mix on the go. Yeah, you can. They still suck though. (Y)
Trebor
You can set it to play straight, as Haz said. The no screen, I'm totally used to it, plus it also means that in total, about 10 albums of 320 quality music, and my headphones, weighs under 50 grams. I never had a proper Mp3 before hand so it wasn't too annoying for me. You'd be surprised at how little you need a screen, as you spend less time thinking, "hmmmmmmmmm, what shall I play?" It seems a little silly (to me), because if you put the music onto your I-Pod you obviously want to listen to it. If you don't want to, click it to shuffle and see what comes up. Obviously if it held like 30 gigabytes it would be annoying, but with 1GB amount of music on there it's very easy to get to the artist you want. I guess they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I know I won't be breaking this or replacing it anytime soon - no screen to scratch for a start (Y) and they're so light that when they fall down hardly any force goes to them, but if you wear the lanyard it's pretty impossible to drop them so they stay in tip-top condition (Y) Plus I got mine in Hong Kong so was about 2/3 of the regular price :)
crazy_gap girl
ipods rule! i've got a mini and nearly a year old and no problems at all.. apperntly the 1st generation ipods after 5 years they blew up, apple might put a time chip in them just maybe an easyer way to know when they are compeatly opsolite(sp) (Y) .. it was on watch dog about the ipod mini batterys been faulty :) whos knows. but just think how many people have ipods.. my mate just got the ipod video and its serisouly awesome, but you have to convert the videos to mpeg-4 or something.. or buy videos (Y) it still rocks though :D

Trebor
Personal Data Assisstant - one of those silly things that you see all the suits and wannabe suits (exl. Tomm (Y)) wearing. Kinda like an electric notepad, but you can surf the web and do lots of other wonderful things with them, like set them up to be Satelite Navigation in your car (which I think is the coolest bit). But it is another one of those ultimately pointless gadgets, like these I-Pods we've all succombed too!
Krisboats
my mate had a song on his ipod that played fine on his computer and miy computer but whenever it played on his ipod photo it froze and he had to wait till the battery had fully drained till it could be charged up and used again. He was mega gutted the next day when it was on random and chose the song again, he had to let a fully charged battery drain away. It took something like 3-4 days. Yay! Urban mammoth
problems occur mostly because people just pull the cable from their ipod without ejecting it from the desktop/itunes first. I have had an iPod mini for 2 years now and had absolutely no problems with it. I have just got a 4gb black nano and it is the coolest thing ever in the whole entire world, i love it. My sisiter has also had a shuffle since june and has had no problems. A friend at uni has just got a 60gb video, it looks really good, however it is rather big. I think she will use the bulk of the storage for files / photos etc. The best tip if you are having problems with your ipod is to download the newest ipod udater from >>>>>>HERE <<<<<< and then restore/reset it. If that doesn't work then just ring apple, they are very helpful and if it is broken and within warranty then they will be more than happy to replace it. cheers dan

But it is another one of those ultimately pointless gadgets, like these I-Pods we've all succombed too! I don't think I can surf the web on mine. Maybe there is some program and an attachment for Wifi or something but I have no desire to do that. That's what laptops are for :) Some of the newer ones have wifi in them so yeah you can surf the internet on a 3" screen :S I just use mine as a diary and I have loads of very useful medical-type programs/textbooks on it which I use every day. But I reckon the average TF user probably wouldn't make full use out of it. Having said that, you try getting a cheaper touch screen pocket MP3/video player :P
