Trials Dave
my shimano deore disc mount front hub locked up the other day and nearly threw me over the bars. i cant be bothered to replace another axle in it etc. so i was just wondering which front hubs you would recomend, with a disc mount hub? cheers Edited November 15, 2005 by Trials Dave
breedy13
i'd say the best out hope xc, chris king iso, goldtec pro comp, tune king. all have amazing bearing a should b strong enough for alot of abuse
ShiroKage
if you've got the money, a bulb would be awesome, but have you considered summat like a DMR revolver...? theyre pretty bombproof and such good value... I need to get a new wheelbuild because i'm still using stock hubs and spokes on my halo rims. i'm goin for a bulb rear and an XC front. Biff
I agree, a Hope XC is a really good buy for the money and have excellent warranty cover. Another buy would be the new Echo 06 hubs which also come in an assortment of colour check out: www.Selectbikes.com for the Echo hub www.Tartybikes.co.uk for the Hope XC hub
Trials Dave
the hope also dounds very good. i'll take a look at it see what i think. anything will be better than a shimano. when i replace this hub my bike will finally be shimano free!!! i'll get on the phone to tartybikes about the new echo to see what they say about them. Trials Dave
ok. do the hope and american classic hubs have the 'skateboard style bearings' as i call them or do they have a threaded axle with ball bearings and cones? i would prefer the skateboard styley bearings as they seem to be more hassle free. sorry about the lack of technical talk! cheers Edited November 15, 2005 by Trials Dave
Whistler
my shimano deore disc mount front hub locked up the other day and nearly threw me over the bars. i cant be bothered to replace another axle in it etc. so i was just wondering which front hubs you would recomend, with a disc mount hub? cheers Hello mate. I would recommend a Hope XC Disc Hub, because they are light, pretty strong, and cheap! If you want to buy one of these, then your best bet would be going to either of these websites: Wiggle, Bike Dock or CRC.
