u dont need to do them.....learn what you need to do first to do well in comps then learn fancy stuff ...

it also knackers your h/s, forks handlebars and also frame ..... :shifty: (Y) ;)

what i did was constantly practised them when i was bored and realised is what you have to do is lean right over the front and there is a balance point there and depending on which way you are falling pull the bike into you when u hop or push it out it is very hard to get dialled but practise makes perfect

I practiced leaning too far and knowing I was topping out, then I put my foot down and got off

Once I had learnt a way out, I could go nuts and started experimenting trying to find the balance point. I still get about 5-6 in without hitting it sometimes. its all practice

As for turning no idea except I managed to once by turining on 2 wheels then endo-ing and then started hopping. I got about 120 degrees and came down again lol

I can see your point and agree to a point but I think front hops are a great thing to learn.....They really test your balence and teach you how far you can go on the front before going over......I have ridden many comps where there have been steep roll downs, knowing how steep you can go is a great thing to know.

a lot front hopping is in the feet, you need to be scooping the back up whilst pulling with the bars, just try and correct yourself as you go........also get very steep! its easier when your steeper.

to turn look where you wanna go and when the front wheel is on the ground (between hops) turn the bars the direction you wanna go (like a normal pivot).
