I've never actually had an occassion where disc break cleaner made a disc work better...

Meths is the one you'd be wanting though, for uber cleanliness.

i used "disk clean" and it really did help out! its best to just rag down a hill dragging brake slightly so it heats up n cleans pads then rinse off that another good technique for lazy people like me :shifty:

oggy

There's something about white spirits being oil based that means it's more liable to shit the proverbial bed, as far as your rotor - and it working well - is concerned. However, with Meths, you'll need to wipe it off too. Generally, on car discs and so on you can just clean them, then the residue will burn off, but unless you're gonna ride down the Alps to your nearest riding spot, you'll need to wipe the residue off.

step 1: remove rotor

step 2: put rotor in pan of boiling water for 2 mins taking it out and scrubbing it down with a warm bowl of washing up liquid. Repeat this proccess a few times but on the last time dont use the washing up liquid.

step 3: take your pads out. put the rotor back on your wheel be carefull to avoid grease/rotor interaction.

step 4: boil your pads for 5 mins then refit to your bike.

step 5: go ride, bed em in, be happy.
