Darx
Hey guys, biff asked me to write this stuff out ages ago but im just so dam slow. But here i am now! Eager with the info. The event has been pushed back to please MBUK to 12th Feb 06The area we are using is no longer a rugby field, its now hard court. Not much chance of it moving outside Doncaster, infact theres not much chance of it moving anywhere at all, its sticking where it is unless theres a major problem.Check http://www.cycology.inertia3.com for more info, ill be trying to get a better map of the area up soon. Theres info on entering and that kinda crap on there aswell. Once ive actually woken up, ill be keeping that place up-to-date on the latest info.Thats all for me, enjoy your beef, i smelt it a mile off....(oh yea that £20k biff was on about, we do have £20k... and it was probably a bad idea to give us it. Its from the schools budget, they have an awfull lot given to them for specialist status so alot of it gets made available for YE. We have already spent over £1000, but just like they anticipate, theres not much chance of us getting anywhere near that 20K limit.)

trials man josh
Its not actually Young Enterprise providing the 20K, its the school who is giving it to us as a loan.We are going to be holding the comp hop-idol style as opposed to scoring on dabs. If you have any input on this, it would be greatly appreciated.Biff.i might sound thick but what is hop idol ?? any way im definitely going to do these comps i dont live 2 far from doncaster either.how much will the entry fee be because that will come in handy for extra money cheers josh
Shaun H
Stall at the Bike Show, DVD, Entry payements? there will be profit.Well a stall's going to be quite expensive. And £1000 is *alot* of money to make back.Good luck though, I'm sure you've done all your costings etc

Darx
make profit? yes thats the aim of YE, but we'd much rather have fun and maybe make money out of it if we can. but if we manage to get the bands playing, theyve got some loyal kiddies who follow them around who will pay rediculous amounts just to see them, never mind the comp.let us worry about making back our losses you guys just enjoy yourselves! N.Wood
Good luck with it all, i don't know much about Young Enterprise but there seems to be haters, oh well.
Darx
meh im not too bothered if people hate young enterprise, we arent telling them they must come. come if you want, its gona be a good day. we got some bands playing and plenty of food to go round, and if anyones still around by the evning then we should have a gig nearby for some other bands. should be fun regardless of whether its young enterprise or not.but as i say, we dont care too much for the money. it might be a business, but we'd rather put on a good event and loose money than have a crap day and make a few quid. Darx
In case anyone (saying very stupid thing) reads this months MBUK, you will see details of the event in there, somewhere around the middle.did i mention there will be some familiar faces at the comp? mike
sounds cool, get like drinks stalls (non alcoholic) and if you go to tesco, and buy the tesco value fairy cakes, 12 for like 36p or something stupidly cheap, and get a bag of icing sugar, and some food colouring, then decorate them, and sell them for like 10p each, also you could get a B.B.Q, using the supermarket's own products. if you've got the whole rugby feild, if there's some room you could do some fun small events like throw the 3 bals at the cans, and if you knock them all over win some sweets, you'll make money from that too. i'll try really hard to make it there, i won't have my bike though, as my wrist is still bad. i'll hope to see you there, but i suggest that you don't rely entirley on trials riders, as it is a really small sport, well i say small, it's not as popular as most other sports (like stamp collecting )Mike!!! Darx
ha! i like the sounds, ill try putting the idea forward for mini games, we are a weird bunch - im sure someone will want to try it!there are at least 4 bands playing on the day, could be more, but once we leave that place there is gonna be a post-event gig at a place in the town center. since we cant have alcohol at the event, we might aswell get it afterwards! further news, MBUK expressed an interest in running a short article on the event, but thats no definate at the moment, just another prospect in the air. and also, unless biff is going a bit psychotic, theres the chance of craig lee scott judging the event.all systems go at the moment, just got to pull the day off now, gonna be a long day - i think we'll be cracking open the pro-plus!
