Front Wheel Tap On 20"

yes.

it is just as easy to tap a 20" as it is 26" just when you get quite big, you will tend to find on a mod that you hit your knees on the stem a bit, but you can always use bunnyhopping too,as on a mod bunnyhopping seems to be a suitable option when going big.

just try get the wheel to touchthe top of the wall while your on your way up. you will soon get the hang of it, i was out with a young lad last night and he seemed to be getting the hang of it ^_^:D

its easy and fun - once you've got over the fear part.

i learnt them on walls about 2&half to 3 feet high, its low enough that you'll stand a good chance of getting up if you miss the tap but high enough that the bike has to be properly lifted to actually hit it.

Its definitely safest if you tap just as the bike is about to leave / leaving the ground - full on midair taps have a tendency to tip me over the front atm but i reckon thats just a matter of practice.

i find taps are better than bunnyhops in some situations cos you dont need much forward speed to get you up a big wall. i also find it easier to get to back wheel from a tap than from the standard backwheel method - i guess cos the bike goes higher

They are possible, as people have said. The main difference between stock and mod is simply the smaller area you have to aim for with a mod - you have to be more precise doing it, just because of the smaller wheelbase.

Biggest tap I've done so far is 48", but I'm still really inconsistent with them. A lot of the time I'll end up backwheeling the wall, but it just sorta looks like I spaz out half-way up :turned:

Either way, yeah, they are useful. However, don't just try and learn to tap - mods have different strengths and weaknesses to stocks, and mods are generally easier to just pedal-up to back wheel or bunnyhop to back wheel. Taps do feel cool as shit when you get them, but don't solely learn them or whatever...

oo - yours are bigger than mine.

Then again i saw a video of you bunnyhopping 4 foot to backwheel a couple of days ago so its no real surprise. Any tips for mid-air tapping or is it just pedal and hope ?

Hehe, that vid was 50" :turned: But yeah, for "bigger" taps, just think about what you're doing more. Really concentrate on where you want to hit the front. Take off a little later than you usually would, and sorta bring your arms forward to bump the front wheel into the wall. After that, it's pretty self explanatory, really :P

But yeah, as an example to what I was saying about using the characteristics of mods - Benito just pedals up 9 pallets, and I think he even bunnyhopped 10 in that Cologne vid, so it's possible to get silly-high just pedalling up to back wheel.
