theone2be
just wondering, because on one post in here it says that the frame can snap from 6foot drop offs, but i havent riden trials before and wondered if it was a good frame to start on because i wont be doin any huge drop offs like u lot for a while and i got a killer deal from a friend of a friend
Wright Pads
It's an alright frame to get going on dude. Any frame will snap and crack but some are just weaker than others. It's also how hard you ride them. Check the F/S section dude, some decent frames come up loads in there and you can get a right bargin and have the perfect frame to get you rididng like a pro. Trials Dave
i would definitely go for the frame if your a beginner. especially if you are getting a good deal. i had an 04 mad which i loved. it snapped after 8 months but it took some abuse. i think i was doing around 9ft drop offs etc so you shouldnt need to worry about the frame snapping. if you do somehow manage to snap it, send it back to the shop your friend got it from and try and get yourself one on warranty. thats what i did and im now riding a 2006 saracen mad team urban. i paid £100 for the 04 frame about a year ago now and im riding a top of the range 2006 frame! cant really complain with that. excellent service from saracen. but anyway yeah go for the frame. excellent for learning on (Y) (N)
Ross Gardner
yer good learning bike in my opininon
mackey
it is a good bike to learn on because it is cheap and gets you riding and like most other people you are likely to upgrade your bike and finally get a new frame when you are better anyway so get the saracen (Y)
smelly joe
I started out riding trials on a saracen mad. I think mine was a 04 model. i really enjoyed riding mine, but the only thing was that i tended to ride mine very hard as i had no control, so eventually the inevitable happened and it snapped  . deffonatly go for the saracen to start, its a really nice bike to learn on. Kiss
i snapped 2 when i rode 26" but tht was because i used to do 7ft+ drop and land so hard my eyes kept popping out their sockets on impact. i think they are a good beginners 26" bike (Y)

moe
i saw the mad team once. it was about 3 years ago and everyone was amazed when they kick hopped off stuff onto a coke can and then they gave the crushed can to sum 'lucky' person in the audiance (Y)
Nay
i had one as my first bike, i got it second hand for £125. quite good for learning the basics and trying the small stuff but but they do snap after a while. snapped mine droping off the shed into my dads wheelbarrow. 777
hi i woz just wonderin wether they r suitable for smallish dirt jumps as well as trials?
MadManMike
Congratulations on bumping a 3 year old thread I wouldn't think they are good for dirt - they are trials frames as far as I know.Get a cheap dirt frame, an old DMR (Trailstar, Drone, Transition), Specialized P1, Giant STP or even an old Barracuda Ghetto / Subway... MadManMike
I've stripped it down now but I could build it up again, I was after £200 for it and whatever postage is... It cost me about £600 - Only needs a shorter chain and maybe bigger forks.Anyway, no selling in NMC so if you want to do anything email me: mikeduffield@yahoo.co.uk
777
is it just short of a chain or does it need forks etc.?is it just short of a chain or does it need forks etc.?
MadManMike
It's ready to run but the chain is mega loose It's all there, just needs a new chain ideally, and you may want to get some bigger forks. Other than that it's all complete.email me mikeduffield@yahoo.co.uk for pics and that as we're not allowed to sell in new members section and I don't want to get in trouble or abuse the rules
