Tony Harrison
Ok, I went for a look round some 'dodgy' websites this evening, and a load of popups came up on the screen. My Microsoft Anti-Spyware software went nuts and asked if it wanted me to block stuff left right and center. So I did, then I pulled the plug on my web connection and did a full system scan. Ad-Aware removed some stuff, and I thought it would be fine. But then, everytime I opened the web-browser, it would let me browse for about 30 seconds before directing me to a site saying I needed to get Spy Trooper to remove the software. This started to piss me off. I have the Microsoft Anti Spyware, Ad-Aware and SpyBot - why would I NEED Spy Trooper? None of my programs would get rid of it, so I disabled an IE add-on called 'HomepageBHO' and it seemed to fix it. Just want to know if anybody else has had this same problem and if they know what it's all about? If my anti-spyware software is all up to date and isn't detecting anything, is my computer 'safe'? nb88
Could be adware/virus causing your browser to go to this 'spy trooper' page, have you tried a virus scan? And try going onto the task manager and looking at all the running processes. If you see any weird ones, type them into google and see what comes up.
