Mr Plod
So Friday is Armistice Day. The day we pay respect to our fallen heroes by holding a two minutes silence that commences at 11am. So why not just pay your respects by taking part and remembering those who we all owe so much to. Also why not buy a Poppy. It's all good so take part and never forget (Y)
Mark W
I guess I'll be taking part in the 2 minute silence 'cos I'll be asleep, but there we go... I can understand the sacrifice those people made, and how terrible it must've been, but I'm not going to go to the memorial and join in the parades and so on. Tony Harrison
I shall be at work, but I'll still support the Poppy Appeal. Those guys did a good job, and the State hardly provides for them anymore.
Ben Cox
ive got my poppy (had it for weeks) and i will be doing less work than usuall on friday at 11am (Y) 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
