Hope Trial Sticky Piston

hey, right basically i got 2nd hand hope trial and its got a sticky piston(maybe my fault as the piston pumped out.

anyway its the cylinder on the left as you would ride, and it doesnt move, unless you prevent the other1 moving, therefore the brake rubs constantly, some help please people,

because the pistons move so little in the brake they build up a little dirt, brake should work fine after you clean it.

take ur pads out

place flat blade screw driver (or similar) holding one piston in and press lever in (may help if u turn bike upside down and then use ur foot on lever - thats what i did)

clean the piston that moves out with a rag or something then put some silicon lube on it

repeat for other piston

i didnt use silicon lube, cleaning piston sorted mine out.

pump lever to regain feel

but yes they sent me some silicon based lube. is pretty good stuff.

sometimes its hard to get the piston that is stuk to move but a bit of help from a vice and another person will sort it, oh and a flat bladed screw driver too.

lubed it up and its still not moving, gona send it hope tommorrow and see what happens

dont do it upside down. DONT!!!!!!!!!

my pistons siezed, sent it back to hope, then they did it again, its allways after a really wet ride, like the hampshire comp. pissing me off.
