Welding An Acs

before you start welding, make sure it is in a fully engaged state, then just weld around where the 'coggy bit' meets the threaded part (on the back of it).

just remember that it doesent have to even be that strong, as its only going to be stopping the freewheel turning backwards...

so do you need to weld inside at all?

What do you mean?

All i done was take the crank off the bike, put it in a vice so that the freewheel was facing up-wards and then just put 4 little lumps of weld onto where i have put them.

Just make sure that the weld lumps are touching, both, the bit where the freewheel tool goes on (dark black part) and the lockring (sliver) and then it will never come loose again :D

Oh and make sure that the lockring it at the perfect tightness before welding :(

no i mean welding it so it doesnt ever freewheel sorry if i confussed you lol

Ahhhhh so your trying to lock it out then? lol, i didnt understand (sowwie)

Im not too sure on how to weld it like that, but maybe take the lockring off, then degrease it so you can weld on it inside. then ingage it so that the freewheel is locked in, (maybe wanna hold it engaged with some plyers or summit) then id say just fill the whole thing with weld lol, or maybe just fill the gaps inside the freewheel so that it doesnt spin any more? lol i dunno lol.

Sorry for the confusion!

Will's right, pretty much. Also, a bit less of the shit MSN-type convos would be good (Y)

Just be careful with it, 'cos it's still the pawls holding you in place, so if you overly heat them or the driveshell it could warp. ACS's have enough trouble not being complete dogwank as it is, so you cooking them can't help
