Simon
Ok, recently i've noticed something really odd. I will download a brand new video, and i go to play it for the first time, and it seems as though it's majorlly corrupt. You know, when you get huge pixels blocks and its all kind of smudge from the frame they appeared on. Sometimes it takes up half the screen of video. Hell, in WMP and BSplayer the video freezes all the time, like every 5/7seconds, but the music keeps going. Only in VLCplayer does the video actually continue to play, but its so badly distorted its hard to make out certain parts. Could it be that the drive is royally f**ked? I defragged this morning, but only the C drive, and my videos are on E. Would defragging help it? or even solve it? What makes me say this is that i download CSI from another source, and it goes to D, another hard drive, and it plays crystal clear. Any help appreciated. :)
tomturd
Why dont you copy a video off your C: to D: and see if it plays ok off that? Defragging shouldnt make that much difference nowadays :)

Defragging shouldnt make that much difference nowadays :P Tried copying the video from E: to D: and it was exactly the same. Will try downloading a video straight to D: when i get home, maybe it is just that the drive is f**ked. :)
Danny
Sounds like a codec problem to me. Defragging will make sod all difference in this day and age.
Simon
So er, check this out. I download the latest BT video to my D: drive, the one i tested in BSplayer and such like, and it plays crystal clear. No pixelation, no freezing, no nothing. Is my drive on the blink then? REINSTALL your media players and codecs see if that makes a differnece, other than that if you had hard drive problems it would be more noticeable than just a video not working. alexnessie
Its not a missing codec, as it wouldn't play then... but it could possibly be a corrupt codec or incomplete codec. Google your codec files, and download the newest versions.
