What can the police do if: A person called, say, Becky were to report an underage driver (a week before his birthday) for driving their parent's car, illegaly. Without L plates and someone who didn't look over 18 in the passenger seat. Without any evidence they're telling the truth. No photos or admissions, merely word against word. Then she were to report them to the police. What'd happen? Oh yeah, also if The accused had 2 whitnesses (friends) saying they were at home all night. Even so, I think illegal drivers should have their hands cut off. It's irresponsible and f**king stupid. Because it you hit someone uninsured, they're pretty much f**ked. And if you did permanent damage to them, they'd have a fight to get compensation. I saw a mint Sierra Cosworth get written off once by a load of chavs in their parents car (uninsured) and the guy had to claim off his own insurance. The cops turned up and he ended up getting away with it, but he was vvvvery lucky. As Tom said, no real evidence. I would just deny everything and think very carefully about not doing it again. Worst you would get, I think, would be a damn good telling off, but you could get a ban (as that 11 year old in the Beemer did!) and possibly a fine?? Also for your information if a learner driver is driving around with L plates they have to have someone that is 21 or over in the passenger seat and that person also has to have held a full licence for something like 3 years aswell... The person is a complete wanker for driving round without a licence, they should get banned from taking their test but the problem is without them actually getting caught in the act not I doubt anything could be done about it... I agree about not doing it again. They're old enough now and learning properly so It won't. I was merely asking about the legallity issues and possibility of having their license revoked. This was whilst the driver and passengers had been drinking. Then after swaping drivers a couple of times as it was an automatic we got dropped off and my mate drove the car back to where his parents had parked it. It was all smiley smiley happy happy untill his dad noticed the stering lock on the wrong way round. His mum actually took him to the police station and told him the story he had bbeen out on his own. The police man gave him a royal bolloxing and sent him on his way. Brisa Posted November 7, 2005 Report Share Posted November 7, 2005 A lot of people have pussied about it in this post but think about it... you/your friend (i dont give a f**k) have driven a car being under age (ticks a DJ box) without a licence (ticks another DJ box there) and uninsured (another DJ box plus a box that puts everyones insurence up) You/your friend could have been out illegally driving and all of a sudden Becky is attached to the bumper... you/your friend will have injured/killed someone be it Becky or any other pedestrian/driver. There's a reason why you arent allowed ont he road before you have a licence... because you have f**k all experiance. I had competed in autotest, hill climbs and track days from I was 14 solidly until I was 16 and occasionly now aswell and I had so much to learn on how to drive 'properly' and getting rid of bad habbits. Someone without any experiance is at a high risk of causing an accident, killing somone, hurting someone or just generally f**king some innocent fanny that has insured thier car and holds a licence's day up (me/public). You may have a licence and your friend may have one soon... he/you will wonder why the f**k his insurence is so dear won't he?... yes, it comes down to theft, proper accidents and a major contributor is UNINSURED wankers! None of us know anything for sure except mod661 (sorry dont know the name). Police, if theyre involved will take the same stance, innocent until proven guilty. EDIT: by the way I dont approve of driving without a licence/insurance, never done it myself. However I do believe people have the right to a fair trial.. not what is going on here.
