I have a tatty one but I want a new one! Look forward to seeing what becomes of TrialNoir. Would be cool if ET and Akrigg are both involved... biketrialler
Well that looks like a crap website. For a brand that has been 'under construction' for at least 5 years or longer. lol... dont get your hopes up.
butcha87
I've been waiting on tihs for far too long!Tihs might be able to get me back into trials...
flipkickbs
Sorry to be a complete trials noob, but what is trial noir and why is it so good?
butcha87
It's a company started by Eddie Tongue(Although I guess he's pulled out...) and Chris Akrigg about 3 years ago. First time I heard of them was at Bike 02, where Ed T had the stickers all over his pashley. Make T-shirts and stickers and now apparently a DVD. The trailers for the DVD can be found on the Gate Eight clothing website, starring Chris Akrigg. They're jsut supposed to represent the "dark" side of trials. I couldn't tell you exactly what that is, but I'm sure it's along the lines of freestyle, expression, having fun and not about competitions, usual tat. PaRtZ
so basically its a company with two of the biggest riders being the owners?
yoyoyo
So will it be like ashton?
Luke Rainbird
So will it be like ashton? Not as far as I'm aware. I think the general idea is for tees (possibly hoodies and stuff later on I would imagine) and DVDs etc. to promote a more freestyle approach to trials. Basically it's just Chris Akrigg (and possibly ET) doing what he/they do best! I would assume that there may or may not be a team, depending on who's spotted and how they want to run it, but as far as I know there woun't be much hardware (frames, forks etc) being produced
TomN
If they do tee's and hoodies I'll be purchasing some, like the name lol
John Shrewsbury
Waynio said to me it was a project that akkers had been working on for ages. Most of the footage i reckon hes got was going to be in the ashton, hawzee, tongue, akkers video which WAS ment to happen. But now i reckon hes got all this footage, unlike ashton whos gave all of his footage to animal. Akkers must of fort why not bring his own video out, probs called TRIALNOIR. Im guessing its just about the videos or maybe more.......................... (Y)

spunkey_monkey_boy
i love all the mysterious rumours that surround trialnoir, its such fun... looking foward to seeing what they've got up they're wee northern sleevies.... Waynio
il have trial noir stickers available soon............iv only got like half a dozen of the old ones akrigg has got some new ones designed and will be with him this week. tee's and stuff will be available and il be speaking to chris tomorrow alot more about it........... Bennifer did you e-mail the trial noir site????someone sent a pretty snotty e-mail to it, akrigg is going to show me it tomoz i think, cant wait to read it, there is always a selected few who are arsey about things.............people just need to give people chances............... most people on here wouldnt understand trial noir............ but in a nut shell akrigg has his own way/style of doing things and its different to others EVEN though people can try to copy or imitate him he will be the ONLY one that can do what he does........... how many people on here can actually ride, DH, Trials, Trails, Dirt, BMX and all the gubbings all with individual style and pure silky ness???? there aint many.........some of the lines that we go practise up shipley glen and addingham most people wouldnt even think were possible or deemable...........its his thinking and his way of riding hence why he is so chilled out and laid back and doesnt care on peoples opinions. so the reason i have written this paragraph is "some" people are judging akrigg when they havent actually met or ridden with him to understand him. alot of people on here would love to ride and see what akrigg does or gets upto and for a selected few that have had that experience, they want to do it again.........i know that im extremly lucky and appreciate being able to ride with him. i dont think i would take trials as it is today if it wasnt for chris........a case of dont get too involved or take things serious springs into my mind......... Waynio........................ we'll see how popular it is when like on here people have the stickers on their bikes..................as in the last few months with stickers on my bike alot of people have asked and iv given them stickers that i had and they appreciate it and now something is happening im sure it will all come good............... ...................to be continued................. Waynio
ye what il do when i get the stickers or if i get like a list of names with people who want them and stuff, if you send like a self adressed envelope to me at the shop il put some in envelopes for people.....BUT it would be better for me to do this when i get them. il post in this topic when i do. Waynio......................... same for anyone who wishes to get some. il put up an addy to send a envelope to etc etc. but il wait til we have the final sticker done. Brian Bleech
really looking forward to the video - chris is an awesome and unique rider. his shit deserves to be seen more. mike
Tony Harrison
Well that looks like a crap website. For a brand that has been 'under construction' for at least 5 years or longer. lol... dont get your hopes up. Why does it have to be a 'brand'? Why is it obliged to produce anything? People tend to get things done when they're ready. Bear in mind that since the Pace days, Chris must have been quite busy, having gone to Onza, Ashton and now Mongoose. ET stopped riding trials pretty much, and people do other things. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of Trial Noir. As someone said, the whole mystery around it is good. There are plenty of half-arsed clothing/media efforts plastered round this forum that have far less potential.
Waynio
It'll be interesting to see what becomes of Trial Noir. As someone said, the whole mystery around it is good. There are plenty of half-arsed clothing/media efforts plastered round this forum that have far less potential. i couldnt agree with you more snappel :P im sure weather trial noir is above sea level or below it, the riding that akrigg pulls out of his hat will suprise most.............just riding in my local spots with chris opens my eyes as he takes lines that i havent looked at, never mind owt else!!!! its good to get an idea of what chris is about and having spoken to many top pro riders it makes me wonder sometimes "how to make it pro and how to make it pay" and its hard too many people on here find it too easy that sponsorship is thrown around at them, hence why i like to ride my bike for the pure fun and enjoyment being sponsored is a bonus and isnt taken as "wow look at me im great cos im sponsored" im just like every other lad on here (well most) and when im out riding weather it be in a big group or on my own, i ride for the sake i ride to keep myself thinking.......... and this is what i like so much about trials i see so many young lads up and coming and i feel that the future of trials is secure........it just needs more publicity and needs more and more lads getting into the competition side of it with local clubs aswell as the national club too. this is where riders can be made..... altho the street riding capability of some riders is deffinatly of the top order but how many people will look at things in a different way???most people look at it in the same way. "oh look 40" wall, lets go sidehop up it, tyre tap it, bunnyhop it" then that wall is rinsed and people dont know what to do...........as the thing with some riders is they will do different things, im not saying i do cos i dont, but im trying to distinguish a way of riding which is personal to me and that not many others do or will try, and i look upto akrigg and think "christ!!!" some of the stuff he does on a bike defeats the way of human nature and the way of cycle riding. it truly is amazing for the people that turn around and go "oh wow id rather rinse it with a tyre tap blah blah blah" yes its good that people can do that BUT the ones that stand out are the different ones. im in the process of trying to do something that will probably break me in half before i get any where near doing it but the thing that will make me smile most is the individuality of it, i havent seen anyone do it and it may look good it may look crap but its something i have thort of and would truly (to me) be an achievement and thats what i aim at, achievements with fun and having a laugh at more of a cost than taking life too serious............. Waynio........................... :P keep it real dudes! :)
Tony Harrison
I know what you mean about the walls. It made me get a bit bored of trials. You'd go on rides, everyone would go to a wall and then just get up it. Or go to a drop and just do it. That's why the 24" stuff is good, because people try different things. And I suppose that's why I like to ride my BMX now and then. Watching Akrigg go off is good, just a shame we don't get to see it as much. Yeah, he does good at comps, but I'd like a long video of Akrigg just doing Akrigg stuff. Definitely think more people should ride rocks anyway, I had loads of fun on some damp sandstone outcrops yesterday. Gonna have to come over to Yorkshire one weekend and go to Shipley or Addingham, just a shame about this damn weather...
