will
When I open Mp3's/WMV/MPG/AVI etc... in winamp or media play the music/video randomly skips. It sounds just like a cd skipping, and its really bugging me B) I have a audio out going from my sound card into the back of a sony midi system. The PC has developed this problem recently, Im pretty sure its nothing to do with the sony system. I dont think the soundcard drivers need updating.... :P So im pretty stumped. Also I moved winamp up on the priority list of things the computer needs to do pronto ! My pc never used to do this! the spec is..Intel pentium 4 2.00ghz processor, 1gb of RAM. Im gonna defrag now and see if that helps. Go on. Solve my problem :-

Mark W
Does the music slider bar/timer move smoothly? If not, try different leads?
will
Yea, the slider is still moving smoothly, Ill try some differnet leads aswell. Process of elimination seems the way to go with these things :-
AdamR28
Have you got shitloads of programs and/or spyware running?
Josephine
If the music pauses and then resumes then it's a problem with the software, if it has gaps in it where it misses part of the track it'll be a hardware problem. Tomm
My money is just on excessive adware/spyware and general crap that accumulates on Windows. Try and remove some programs from msconfig, run adaware and spybot etc.
