What Rear Hub To Get

on-a-mission

Wouldnt really bother with a DMR thing to be honest, espically if it's only £40

Get a Hope, there the best for the money and if anything goes wrong with it then they will generally sort it out for you. Many people on here including myself have sent products back and either had them fixed or replaced for free. Im waiting for the new trials one when they get there as into gear. Shoudlnt be long now. Get the steel one with 48 engagments :- only £120

I'd avoid ther dmr, I remember someone on here saying it was awful, and that the freewheel is sealed like a shimano so you have to for out for a full new one each time you broke it.

The hopes are always a good option, an xc or mono is your best bet.

The new echo's look good, but are unproven (I know CLS loves his and all, but the real sceptics won't trust his testimony).

Also there's the second hand king option, which is what I'd recomend, you can normally pick up a king for £170 or so on E-bay.

The thing with rear hubs, is that you get what you pay for, so pay more if you can.

XT rear hub best value for money unless you want a better looking, fully sealed one then get a hope.

:- :P

sorry nafan,

but thats the biggest pile of crap i have heard, shimanos are not strong enough in the slightest, if you ever ride a king or a profile then you will soon realise that shimano should change their name (SHITMANO) the engagement is good for an XC rider or a casual mountainbiker, but not in trials where the stresses on a hub are much higher.
