Mark W
Hey, Just out of curiosity - I've got an Avid BB7 brake up front rocking a bitchin' 203mm rotor. Was just wondering what sorta 'aftermarket' rotors I could get for it, and how different rotors effect the braking performance? Less over-heating (hasn't happened to me yet...), more bite, whatever. Just wondering (Y)
Tony Harrison
D-L-B uses a Hope one, and it works. Think he'd like it to lock a bit better but that might be down to the pads.
Backgren
try different pads instead of rotors. at least to start with. try EBC or something.
Mark W
Yeah, I was thinking of going for EBC reds, seeing as they sound pretty ideal, really...
Hobnobs
My magura louise Sl rotor (i think that what its called) worked reeeeally well, shame it was slighlty buckled and made funny noises. Get one of those if you can, and EBC reds, best brake ever.
Will Arnold
Yeah, I was thinking of going for EBC reds, seeing as they sound pretty ideal, really... :D :- B) :P erm, are you sure you need more bite mark? 203mm rotor, mod wheel, avid mechanical! that isnt enough bite? :D
Siders77
I was surprides when I went on Marks bike, I was expecting neck braking erm.... braking. B) But it wasn't any more powerful than my Juicy. Anyway Mark, I would get some EBC Reds and a Hope Gothic rotor. Sexy. :-
Urpedigreechumdog
I use ebc reds on an avid 160 on my stock and before i snapped rotor bolts, it was the tits, now i'm getting a new front wheel and a 203 rotor, with ebc reds, should kick bumbum's, even more so if it were a mod. Hidden message: Get ebc reds before a new rotor.... Edited November 4, 2005 by Urpedigreechumdog
Swize
I run a hope m4 185 on my mod with standard avid pads and its awsome so ime just gonna stick with this setup . I can't see why your brake isn't amazing :- ? Sam Edited November 5, 2005 by samthebiker
Tomm
If it's not amazing, then there is probably something wrong with it. Have you clean the rotors and burnt the pads?
