oakley
oprite guys and girls, was just wondering if it would be possible to put a disk brake lever including reservoir etc on a maggie and whether it would make your brake any better or not? if you put a hs33 lever on a disk then it makes it feel horrible which makes me come to the conclusion that reservoirs help the feel of your brake alot. So if you put a reservoir an a hs33 would it help the performance etc? e.g: a hope trial lever with hs33 pistons etc... Can someone who is a little bit clever please help me out as i am dumb :P Hope this all makes sense. joE!
nmt_oli
I can't remember who it was, but someone on here put a hope closed pro lever on a maggie (like you would find on a c2). He had to change all the seals in the lever so the mineral oil wouldnt kill them. He said it was good, but he burst his slave chylinders uite quickly due to the extra pressure i believe. You cant put an open lever of any sort on the maggie (ie the hope mini/mono/trial lever), as the maggie is a closed system. Basically, its very hard to do succesfully, and isn't recomended. Ali C
been done, was crap.... because disk levers have smaller pistons, its moves a lot less fluid, so you have to set your brake up extremley close to the rim, so even the slightest buckle will make it rub. Also because of the piston ratio the lever will be about as stiff as cooked spageti, sponge city! Also, the resevoirs dont have any say on poiwer, they are there to allow for fluid expansion from when the fluid heats up from going down hill and so on, the fluid can go in there rather than pushing on the pads and eventually locking the brake.
