BenLeacock™
erm, can use the lil digital machines that u hold on to/strap round you, or some scales have them built in, but there pretty inaccurate as they go on conductivity of your skin, which is bollox is your sweaty/dehydrated/overhydrated. underwater weighing is by far the best method. but for the cheap, reliable way of doing it yourself. accu-measure(or the like) skinfold calipers. can get them for like £8 posted on ebay.Wanted to bang details onto shape fit now so was going to see if there was a fast way. Might just get some calipers

Tomy P
Hehe, 21" biceps if you do, i'm impressed! Mine are 16" tensed, I train 4-5 times a week and supplement with protein powders (various), creatine (BSN cellmass) and will be taking a BSN NO-Xplode soon. My best achievement was being just shy of 15 stone at 8.9% bodyfat around about a year ago, although Ive lost almost a stone since then as i'm now training as a scaffolder and riding a lot more and find it impossible to get enough calories! I have no idea what my 1-rep max bench is as I can't see the point in doing it and my chest is one of my weakest muscle groups!Anyway, I would say that to a point, being stonger does not make a massively difference to how big your riding is... IMO its more about technique and confidence! Edited January 22, 2008 by tompeibiketrial
Urban mammoth
anyone looking for a protein supplement/meal replacement......I highly recommend USN Muscle Fuel, tastes really nice, nice and thick, like yoghurt!!£49.99 for a 5kg tub (bucket!!!)good value i think.40g of protein per serving.I also take norateen heavyweight II, there are a lot of mixed reviews on it, however, i think it definately makes a difference if you take it with enough protein and enough water through the day and workout regularly... If you don't like swallowing tablets though, steer clear cos these are quite big!!Also, something i have just started to do is to have a training diary, really helps you see how you are progressing, would highly recommend people do that!! really valuable, as it makes you think about what your doing instead of just doing it.With any workout, to see proper benefits, you need to get enough protein in your diet......1g per lb of body weight or 2-2.5g per kg (however you wanna work it out!!)after your workout, consume protein within 15 minutes of finishing!!and also try and have protein just before bed so your muscles can rebuild overnight.CheersDan
Si-man
I was told by the health shop man to take lots of liquid carbs before training, then within 30 mins of training, make a shake up of 1 part protein 2 parts carb (may have been the other way round) Also, he told me to take a decent vitamin suppliment everyday after breakfast or dinner.Hes told lots of people that, and you should see some of the guys that buy from that shop!Said only take the shakes when you workout aswell, as if you just take them everyday without workout in between it can turn into fat Edited January 22, 2008 by Si-man

munkee
never under stood why people live by this protein straight after a work out quick rush home style. If your body needs protein its going to need it all day long.. it doesnt suddenly just go.. oo my 15 mins are up better not take any more of that shit in. Meh guesse ijust read things with a pinch of salt.Whilst were on the subject yeap creatine works.. but at the same time i couldnt be bothered using ti in the end, the gains i got from it were pretty much completely fake once i stopped using it my weights slumped back to near enough where they were before. Also makes u dehydrated like a mother f**ker so expect to put on a extra couple of kg in weight from the amount of water retention you will have in your body. Gavyn.
anabolic window? most protien shakes are high in sugar so if you take it straight after your work out then you kill to birds with one stone.
Caleb
the protein powder is only like 1 percent sugar, not too sure about the shakes but can imagine them being higher.

Im sure many people get pissed off with having to go to the loo for a piss all the time from the excessive water intake, but thats as far as it goes.
