Barbra
ive heard rumours that these rims are like cheese, could somebody please clarify whether or not they are like cheese?
TheMunn
They aren't cheese in a sense that you can't eat them, however they are cheese in a sense that they are rather soft.

matthewholdsworth
had a koxx rim in to where i work it looked very poorly made (this was not the new models so i dont knwo if they have changed it) the drilled out bits were so close to the holes for the spokes there was no more than 1mm of metal in places. the rim looked cheap, but after me mate built it up it has been fine so far and has been abused beyond the normal realms of some riders. wheel strength is pretty dependant on the build quality, my mate built this wheel 4 cross to give it more strength and it looked nice when done

T-Limburn
i had a koxx rim and after a while it just started to fold this is partly because the rim had so many grinds and was wearing thin, and was pretty old, but all is good now as i have one of the new echo rims :D
Waynio
how many people have used these rims to clarify that they are cheese????? mines spot on and its like 2months old, aint even got a dent in the sidewall of the rim, and has been ground 3times. i like it how people are "assuming" that people say these rims are cheese.well played, again a fine example of fine "trials forum advice"(Y) i dont get how people do/can trash these rims i rekon it must be taking them a good 8/12months to do, and this is probably after they have been ground 12/13times aswell. the rim is probably worn out in grinds before it starts folding like people sort of say. Waynio....................... I'm running a megamo rim thats over 2 years old, a few flat spots but not enough to affect setting up my brake. And i think most people have used koxx rims at some point, for the money they charge you would expect them to be better than they are. Oh and flourescent rims aren't new (N)
Janson
if you're looking for fluorescent spray paint, get some pink stuff of the halfords variety. got a mirrored echo pure on the can (Y)

Waynio
i aint broken a koxx rim yet???? and im sure the riding i have done in the last 10/12weeks have been a bit more painful than the average rider, iv probably crashed a few more times than most and have had some serious hard landings and plenty of corner landings with a good old bang. it just seems strange, im ust perfect the art of being super smooth, il probably start breaking things then, like most other people must do :) :) :turned: :P :P in fact yes i have had a problem with my wheel, the spokes came loose!but i doubt thats a rim fault, unless we blame it on "not having eyelets" but seriously if any of you could walk upto me and be serious that you had broken a koxx rim without crashing out i would like to shake your hand! cos i wont believe it till i saw it. Mark W
Apart from the pre-f**kedness of my rim, and the fact that it can't hold a grind at all, I guess I'd call them average. Not really found any problems strength-wise, but the thing that *really* pisses me off about these rims is how shit they are at holding grinds. I'm running Koxx greens, and after a week and a half parts of my rim were mirror-finish. Even now, I've reground it and it was quite a sharp grind, and it's just worn it mostly smooth after another 2 weeks or so. That's pretty much the sole reason I'm considering the Echo rims... PaRtZ
That's pretty much the sole reason I'm considering the Echo rims... Please get another colour other than blue. My bike is looking too similar to yours :P pic 1 pic 2 My try-alls are fine. Because I cant true a wheel for sh*t though its wobbly, but thats my fault, not the rims. I don't grind my rims cos I just use tar + koolstops :) I prefer the koxx to the old echo's because I love the wide rim :P but yeah Im also thinking of a new rim and possibly an expert to build it :turned:
