Josephine
Right, looking to put a new head unit in my mum's car because all it has at the moment is a shitty cassette thingummy that won't even let one of those tape/in adapters work. I'm getting an MP3 player for my birthday hopefully, so I want something that has an auxiliary in socket on the front of it, it'd be nice if it was a CD player too I daresay. I've had a quick look round and searched through some online stores mentioned in previous ICE topics, but I'm out of my depth being honest. Just, wanna point out that I'm not after any different speakers or amps or anything, just a headunit :( Joe
JTM
Just get a head unit that plays mp3 cds, sack off using aux input, waste of time if you ask me
Dann
yea an mp3 cd headunit is your best bet, and if its an ipod of somekind that you might be getting for your birthday, invest in an itrip and transmitt your tunes to the headunit via FM frequencies! :(
Bluegrass
I'm also looking for a headunit. I've heard good things about mp3 cd's, how many tracks can you fit onto 1 cd? And what's the difference between the mp3 compatible headunits and WMA units? They seem a lot more expensive... cheers for the help and for the topic title, was just what i'm looking for :(

that NBR dude
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...1eb1ff8ff22c109 Beat me to it!! That is a cracking head unit, and offers everything that you specified. At some point, Halfords had this on offer, but I dont know if they still do. Anyway, I would say, on a reasonable budget, this is the one to go for. Excellent quality, 2 pre-outs (should your mom want to add a couple of amps/subs) and it looks clean and tidy as well.
