T-MAG-05-DAN
Do brake boosters actully improve braking? What would you recomend as a rear brake booster? Whats the difference between 2 bolt and 4 bolt boosters? Your help will be well appreciated.
JT!
They do increase braking at they divert more power onto the rim. Not only that but they do protect your crossover cable aswell. Two bolt boosters are lighter, generaly cheaper (compared the their 4 bolt couterpart) and possibly easier to setup, but they won't be as good as a 4 bolt. Wait around for the heatsink booster, not ever tried one, but heard nothing bad about them. If your still using magura pads and are thinking of getting a booster to increase your braking power, change the pads first, it'll make a much bigger difference than getting a booster. Mc Lovin
A good booster is the onza carbonfiber, looks amazing too. Boosters also protect your mounts from bending / weakening which will eventually mean a cracked mount if you are unlucky. ollie
As you are thinking of buying a brake booster to increase your braking power, as JT said try some new pads first, and especially because the wet weather is here, you may want try a grind, this will increase the friction between your pads and the rim, thus resulting in better stopping power, and about the booster i have heard that the echo range are quite good, although i have only used magura ones, but they have worked for me! hope I help. ollie. (Y) I rode a mates bike with the new heatsink booster. Tis lush, I could not feel, nor get any flex. Thats even squeezing the brake as hard as i could and just watching the backend. SOLID. Get one. Thjey look abit chunkey though.

tom tom
i fell in love with the heatsink booster, £28, four bolt is for well four bolt mounts and two bolt is for well two bolt mounts, it stops the frame frmo flexing as much/at all or the welds on the mounts from craking tom tom

Houseface
yes they do.when i got mine it felt so much more stiffer and not squishy, but then i have soft pads so it feels a right bu**er. if you want to get one look at the rb design ones or an echo one as i heard they are the best. steve
