nafan
Planning on doing my first decent (forwards) drop, its a bottle bank about 5 foot I think... How much would I need to drop my front in order to do it properly? Cheers, Nathan (Y)
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
Intill the bikes nearly level, try and learn the proper technique on a smaller wall before doing it on the high wall though, i done it first time properly on a 6.7 foot high wall, and when i pedal kicked off, i couldnt get the technique right to kick the back end down, so i landed flat... it hurts... ALOT!! lol
Ali C
if you dont know how to do them, I dont reccomend going for somthing high, learn the technique on small things untill you know how much you need to drop the front for given hights. Mr Motivator
That low lol? :D You don't really need to wory about dropping the front too low on a bottlebank as its not that high, you could gap off it if you wanted to and wouldnt feel it. But just remember to lean back, like exactly what I'm not doing in that pic ^^ (Y) Needs to be more like this; Good luck with it (Y)
JT!
Not only drop your front end, but lower your arse down towards your back wheel. That way your body is lower and effectivly has less to drop.
nafan
I can already do it on some quite low walls, one about 3.5 feet and about a foot wide was no problem, I'll do some others that are about then start looking at it again, thanks very much for the advice everyone!!! (Y) The pics helped too Sam! Cheers! (Y) Edited October 30, 2005 by nafan
Luke Drewery
As people have said just lower the front end till its nearly level whilst leaning right over your rear tyre and you should land smoothly. Just remeber though if youre not sure practice on something smaller! Drops arent all there is to trials, they dont require much skill and dont make you look like a good rider!
