Mike Poyzer @ Onza
They actually weigh 315 grams against around 240 to 260 grams for most alloy mod stems. Considering that I don't think we have ever seen a broken one in six years of usage and they are at least half the price of most alloy stems I think they qualify as a good buy. Yet again I read more examples of the uninformed viewpoints of many riders on this forum. If you don't know something , don't fill the pages with your prejudices. If you're trying to reduce weight on the front end you probably want to be looking at replacing the steel forks with some ally ones
danny B
well blokes to be honest i don't really bother with the weight of what me stem is i prefer the fact that isn't break in two when i ride. :P
SQuiT-man
Mine weighed about 340g I think, on the same scales that my monty stem weighed just under 220g to give you an idea. So a bit over half as much weight again, but I guess its true that they are probably pretty strong. Personally, It was the feel of it, not the weight that put me off :D
