AdamR28
You might want some lube in there Jason, or it will die. Finish Line XC Wet works well, or a bit of car motor oil.

nmt_oli
Have you put any lube back in at all? as running it dry makes them very loud, but can lead to problems. Any decent solvent is good for cleaning the freehub and pawls, just make sure you dont get it on the bearings, as you don't want to eat the grease out of them! but do put some lube back in, a dab where each pawl sits in the carrier, and a light smeer around the ratchet is usually enough. Too much and the pawls and springs can stick, which also causes problems. Use a good quality medium to light grease. I don't use oil as i have found it doesnt stay where its put very well, but if its somehting like finish line as Adam says, thats a bit thicker so should be ok. Mark W
Hi there last night I serviced my hope xc with bmw disk brake cleaner it sounds very loud, i was just wondering what people were using to get them loud.Clarky <_< Was just talking to Ad about htis on MSN - what's the big deal with wanting a really loud hub/freewheel? There's no real benefits from it apart from a constant loud clicking noise which you achieve (and have lovely colourful wheels) by getting spokey dokeys. If you're running a 36H rear wheel, and put 2 on each spoke, you've basically got the same click as a CK? ^_^ Going from the quiet Eno to the loud Tensile it just kinda...not annoys me, but I'd just rather it was a little quieter? It's reassuring, I guess, but I knew my Eno was working perfectly anyway, it was just loads quieter...

A mate bought me some for my birthday for a laugh. Just use them with your hope, and imagine its a King. Money saved = £100 = 100 litres of gypsy juice (7.5% strong cider), or 10 bottles of cheap whiskey = VERY drunk weekend <_<

Joe_Elding
Do you need to lube up a profile? I got mine about two weeks ago and just put it on my bike how it came out of the box. Don't really want it to die on me. :P
Waynio
a bit of good old fashioned "JIZZ" (Y) hahaha i use finish line wet lube as everything is better wet............. (Y) i always take the majority of the grease out of mine as it is quite thick. also i double the springs up in the carrier and havent had ANY problems and no damage to the ratchets in like 18months!!!!! (Y) i do take it to pieces and clean it out every maybe 9/10 weeks. Waynio..............................
Mr Motivator
Water. Seriously. I stretched the springs too. It's like a machine gun. Suprisingly it never skips.
Onza Kieron
I streched only 1 spring in mine and it makes a really weird click, slips lots, its 4 years old and been used hard (Y) . I used weldtite wet lube in mine to keep it ticking, i think youll find this is the best. Kieron :D (Y)
