B.E.A.U
hay. one day me and my mates were out riding. and th one of them said beau look at how you ride and i said what have i done now.. and he said the way you stand on your pedals. because if anyone looks. my feet turn out on the pedals and liek my heels touch the cranks arms if you get me.so i tried riding how they o and i cant. it hurts sometime. and they say one day i will try a big gap or something and my feet will slip ff because my feet are hardly on the pedals. any one have any ideas of why thoscould be or could any one help me. ow and another thing. its bad because i rode in my mates try all shows once and i realy liked them and i want a pair. but. when i gap n drop my ankle hits the crank arm and it gets all bruised because of the way i ride please help. thanks to anyone who helps. beau
emery
ermmm ;) It could be that you started to ride like it and now you can;t change back. Try to just ride around with your feet all square, not gaps or riding just strolling along. That could help. That used to happen to me in skateboarding I used to ride with my foot at the back and it was wrong and effects performance. I tried to do it normal it felt weird but I soon got it but I quit so I never really done it properly, but it could be that you've just got to sacrifice some riding time and concentrate on keeping your feet straight if your good now then you will be really good when thats all sorted. It will be a confidence booster. My foot sometimes come off the pedal, cut my leg open because of it ;) Hope I helped toby :)
Mc Lovin
That's sort of what i did when i started, i got the back of my shoe cought underneath the chainstay when i was front hopping and, ;) oooow. I hit the ground quite hard. ;)
murph
just keep riding with your feet straight and you should naturally get used to it, if this dose not work just ride how you ride. ;)
Endohopper
It's often difficult to " unlearn" bad habits from when we begun . Be aware of your foot placement on your pedals , especially when setting up for a big move . Incidentally , what pedals do you run ?
FLATOUTSTYLE
Your thinkin about it too much, just set ypur feet on the pedals parallel and ride, then maybe check if your still square 5mins later, you will get used to it im sure...I sometimes catch my left heel on the crank arm, its all scared up from slicing it a few times on the trott. Guess that will do that now and again, just try and stand square..What pedals you ride with?
Technical Tom
The way you ride is a bit wierd :) and it does look like your feet are going to slip off at any second, but if it feels right and safe to you then keep going with it (Y) you haven't slipped off the peddles yet. Cheers, Tom

Cheers, Tom Well if you haven't slipped off yet don't let it bother you. If it does cause a problem when you go bigger then try and sort it out. Whatever you do it'll probably take a while to get used to so maybe just try and correct your footing a bit at a time or just wait till it actually does become a problem . You never know it may never become a problem and if that's true who cares what your stance looks like a long as you like it. Luke :)
Neodug
Im sorta the same but only when im riding from place to place not when im trialsing. I think its because if i put my feet on the pedel my foot hits the wheel when i turn (Y)
mat hudson
heels in riding style is not uncommon neither is heals out. its all to do with how you feel comfy on your pedals. there is no need to change your pedal stance.

Ali C
I ride a bit heals out I think. if you can learn to ride with them straight then thats great, but I wouldnt worry too much about it.

mash65
Just get used to asking yourself where your feet are. You'll have it before too long.
mat hudson
you dont need to that, as long as you are comfy on your pedals and it isnt causing you to slip etc it should be fine.
emery
To right as in my post I went out last night and saw my heels stick out so that when I do something my ball of my foot is only on the pedal gives me more power aswell. Well it feels easier. (Y) toby
