kick-this
I'm after buying a disk but i'm a bit confused, i'm after a avid bb7 as i've heard there pretty good! but whats the difference between a 160mm rotor and a 185mm rotor? Will the bigger rotor fit on my mod or will i need some kind of adaptor? i've never run a disk before so i don't really know what i'm talking about, can someone please shed some light. cheers Guys! :- Dave... Siders77
Just go for the 160mm, it's plenty powerful and less pissing about. ;)
Caleb
Mod rider yes? From experience go for a 160mm sized disc rotor version. i have the 185 on mine atm and its too powerful, you'll be wanting a bit of modulation so go for the 160 plus its cheaper. All the adaptors etc will come supplied with the brakes anyway so you dont have to worry. Do you have disc mount dediacted forks and a front disc hub btw? oh and just so you know bigger the rotor the sharper the brake, but as ive had 2 185's on my mod id suggest a 160/165 what ever they are . . . kick-this
what comes with them then? will i have to buy anything else? This is going to cost me more then £54.99 isn't it Dave ..
nb88
For the £50, you get the caliper and rotor (and all bolts etc.). You will then need a cable lever (same ones as v-brakes, e.g. Shimano XTR). This doesnt need to be brilliant, and cheap avid ones can be picked up for around a tenner or maybe even less. You then need some brake cable and your ready to go. I'd recommend, if youve got the money, a shimano XTR lever from Chainreactioncycles.com and some oddysey slic cable from alansbmx.com Noz. Mark W
Weirdsville. I've got a 203mm rotor on my mod, and it has loads of modulation? It's just a case of setup, and getting used to it ;)

Jonny Shoe
I have a 185mm rotor on my mod and it is very powerful but still allows modulation so it is great. I would go for the 185.
