i have magura hs33's and i've heard that if you bleed them with water then they are really sharp and responsive so i'm going to do that tomorow.

i've also heard that hydrolic disk brakes are really good but i don't know whether they where bles with proper fluid or just water.

yeah i will agree fully with you, the lever is lush, but the pystons, slaves are absolute shite, the sweetest setup is 05 lever with 04 slaves, trust me on that one B) but i have never had anything good from my fully 05 brake, neither has my cousin, so steer clear!!! 05 brakes are SHIT :-

dude defo a magura hs33 rim brake for the rear, but NOT the new 2005 version they are SHIT!! get like an 03/04. for the front get a hydrolic disc.

Nothing wrong with the new 05 levers, made of the same stuff and do the same job! Just a different shape.

Anyway back to the topic

Magura hs33 for rear, with a nice grind and some koxx browns

avid juicy 7 for the front (in my view the best trials disk brake available)

hope this helps

For the back definately get a hydrolic hs33 as they give the best grab .For the front some people prefere hs33 bacause they give great bite and lock when going to front wheel swapping ect.And some people prefere discs because when it gets wet they work really well sometimes even better than the dry where as hydrolic brakes tend to slip in the wet. It`s mostely a personal choice i would just get a hs33 front and back. :-

Cheers

I run hs-33 2005 front and rear, Original bleed(Go on slate me :-) Zoo! pads(rear) and Heatsink blues(front) i personaly think there great. Alot of people run a front hydro disk, its rare to see a rear disk becuase your likley to bend or break it when performing trials moves like sidehops for example.

You have the Saracen 2six right? Id say get a magura hs-33 for the rear and for the front its personal preference(and your wallet size) either a good v-brake(avid,xtr),A good disk(Hope,Magura louise) or a magura hs-33.

And as for the 2005 hs-33 being "shit" i dont aggree i have some 1998(oldskool B)) on my xc/commute bike, i much prefere the levers to the 2005 ones, Whats the difference to the pistions? i cant tell the difference to be honest, Didnt magura claim to have upgraded them some how?

Not entirely true, Rich pearson runs a disc, mainly because his frame won't break under the pressusre of a disc, where as many other frames would just crack and/or snap

And there's nout wrong with an original bled maggie. Iv'e had mine for 2 years without the need for a bleed.

Nothing Different, Their the same! Apart from the lever which feels much nicer..

I think it's good that u run your maguras on their first bleed, I would still be if i hadn't split my hose :-

Erm...05 lever and 04 slaves = 05 brake. There's no difference to the slaves in the 2005 upgrade.

So stop talking bollocks :)
