Ash-Kennard
why the hell are those tubes lumpy to f**k?
Waynio
its "hydro forming" ash, which means the tubes are extruded and shaped virtually with high pressures of oil being blasted through them, a technology to strangthen weld contact areas and such forth.Ben i was on about Deng copying the Hydro forming and the Monocoque style tube. mind you all his frames are around £300 to do something a bit more special usually costs a bit more, so the frames in this country would be more expensive unless people wanted to price war and make £10 per frame.iv got a picture of the XTP2 DUAL disc, check the rear dropout below:i should have a clearer picture of the Hydroxx 26" very soon hopefully.Waynio......................ALSO hydroforming obviously makes the tubes thinner where it can be and thicker at the welds to keep a good overall strength and a light frame. Hydroxx 26" was extremly light. Edited April 4, 2007 by Waynio
PaRtZ
hell yeah! I love the placement of the XTP2 disc caliper! such a good design. Although admittedly you dont damage the rotor anyway, but its out of the way and just looks tidy and more practicalAlso I love the way on the new models thats koxx is embossed on the frame. Its a nice little touch! And on one of them theres koxx on the dropouts again but I can't remember if it was cut out or un-embossed but still looked goodNot sure about the bmx's though...... Chris
btwFinal geometry for the hydroxx 26": 1090-1095mm (depending on the chain tension), +50mm, but it won't be available within the next 2 months (<-- same for the koxxboxx).Giacos new frame is still being tested as well, won't be out within the next 4 months. Shaun H
:$Wasn't the Holroyd the first with 116mm horizontal dropouts?Anyway, Koxx are coming out with some very interesting stuff. Been waiting for hydroforming to come to trials, an obvious but perhaps expensive move.

basher
Im guessing that with the xtp2 you have to run a hope as it looks like a pritty tight fit and made around there tryall hope brake. Good design but bit of a let down for me if you could only run a hope am not to keen on them i love me bb7's.

Waynio
iv heard the Hydroxx will be a month. same as the Koxx Boxx. but hey who knows, maybe thats the one im getting and bens getting the boxx.they will be available very very soon the good thing koxx have done is, apposed to making 1 frame in 3 lengths they make 3 or 4 pro model frames and the wheelbase can be adjusted by the forks. they have a pair of forks with more rake and some with a steeper rake, they are adapted in the height so it does not affect the handling and geo of the bike too much Waynio........................... Waynio
complete bike hugh? i would have guessed at around £1200 frame alone will be around the £400/450 ish. im just speculating after talks at koxx days with a few people. the person who could fully put price on these is Fred Savage from Koxx UK, if you need a price give him a call or send him an e-mail.Waynio.......................EDIT: yes the levelboss has now become a "yaabaa" branded bike. again Yaabaa have a very strong line up of bikes too but they are thinking that the Hydroxx 26" will replace levelboss @ £400 ish frame and £1200 (ish) full bike Edited April 8, 2007 by Waynio

Shaun H
Echo have been using this technology for many years now I'm assuming you were reffering to the square tubes? I mean the swoopy detaily style sorta stuff.
AdamR28
Its still Hydroforming though - Forming the shape of the tube by Hydraulic action. It just depends to what level you wish to take it.Frames look good from the pictures, would like to get some in stock. Speak to you tomorrow Fred. Waynio
i can sort of see that shaun means in the way that it is extruding the shape of the tube in many areas, as on a square framed tube on an echo its sort of "square" pretty much all of the tube.the hydroxx has nice attention to detail (with the Koxx logo sticking out from the tube) also they are similar to what marin have done to their "FRS" bikes to make the swingarm and the main frame stiffer, they crease (have a step on the tube) the frame and the step adds to stiffness of the tube, its definatly a benefit to the frame. the stiffness factor will be seen when i get one of the first ones that comes into the UK. if you have a flat piece of alloy like so: ------------- you can do that "wobbly" thing, that Rolf Harris does "whimba womba" jobba, as with on that steps ---¬____¬----- (this bit needs to be other way) you cant then "flex" it up and down. as the dip adds to the stiffness of the shape of the tube.Waynio............................(that "diagram" is CRAP! but it does make sense if you think about it)
