Clarky
ime going to design the external view of the frame with no geo. clarky. p.s piks will be up l8er. EDIT: i think the frame should have a very stiff rear end and be made out of t6 alu, the geo should be around 1050. clarky Edited October 25, 2005 by JASON CLARK
Tomm
There is definitely something about Leesons and wanting to be ridden. Maybe it is the springyness of the steel. I seem to remember that Ali's Global Ti rode similarly, really nice feel. Maybe boon was right all along, steel is reel B) I'm not sure I really see the point in a 24" trials-specific frame, but I guess that it would be better than firing out another long low 26" frame :ermm:
the666ers
There a lots of longetivity issues with Leesons though as well. I know of two which have lasted less time than Ashtons. And I think a lot of the feeling of a bike is to do with the setup really. I've ridden steel frames that ride like a bag of shit, alloy ones that are nice and lively and vice versa. It's all to do with how they are made etc... Personally I think a slightly heavier built ashton priced more resonably is the way forward. Leeson and curtis have the steel side of things covered (as Jon said) and it would be cool to see a £200 24, with a years warranty and normal shapes (I.E twin triangle with no gay bendy tubes and un-useable seat tubes) which is short enough to street it up on but can cater for other styles too. Dan Clark
I don't see why people haven't bought onto the idea of a trials specific 24". Surely it could be made as a perfect balance of mod and stock? I'd certaintly be interested in one.
SQuiT-man
The only 24" I have seen that I thought was truely stunning was the one I saw Matt Staples riding at the nbr comp, it was beautiful. From what I remember it seemed a very low frame for a 24, say 8", 1060-1070 wheelbase as a guess, with higher BB (say 30mm rise). That thing is gunna be the sex when it comes out, looked really inspirational
Ali C
I would love one too, there are two reasons why I dont really want or need one. 1) cant enter comps 2) would almost feel like cheating being on the smaller easier bike, 26" is great because its the biggest challenge, no point making things easier for yourself, its wimping out :- Matt Staples bike was and is awesome, one of the better frames out in my books. nafan
Alu, 1060, 25mm BB rise B) Yer defo!!! Make the seat stays thin enough so that people with D521's dont have to do a pad bogde with super-glue to make their maggie work properly :- B)

Brian Bleech
heres my idea for a nice street 24" frame......no copying :- thats nice geo there ali, not too far off mine, except i have 74degree and 1030, but the reach is pretty much the same. liking the underneath brake mounts too. mike
Matt Staples
The Inspired 'TwentyFourInch' is only a proto as yet. Geo at this moment: 1040 w/b 72 degree h/a 85mm h/t 8'' s/t 380mm c/s +30 mm b/b Pretty much everything will change, if only a tweak. Will be VERY interesting I'd advise people to look more to the Onza Zoot 24'' (mini t-rex) as its the only frame bar a leeson or curtis thats going to be availible any time soon. ime going to design the external view of the frame with no geo. clarky. p.s piks will be up l8er. EDIT: i think the frame should have a very stiff rear end and be made out of t6 alu, the geo should be around 1050. clarky ah bless. also, what does 'l8er' mean? Olly C
2) would almost feel like cheating being on the smaller easier bike, 26" is great because its the biggest challenge, no point making things easier for yourself, its wimping out :- Thats bullshit B) Honestly though it actually gets to me when people think that, I ride mod and its pretty much the same as stock, I've rode a stock bike for 3 minutes and automatically learnt to tap alot higher than I can comfortably do on my mod however much I practice, Sidehops are piss aswell on these new long and low bikes just gotta watch the mech. Alot of good mod riders can ride stock just as good, CLS, Benito, Staples, and a few others. Its not just its smaller and probably lighter therefore easier, its just not. Even if that was sarcastic I still felt like putting that out.
Ali C
narr, it wasnt sarc. I rode mod for 3 years but I always felt I had it easy compared with the stock riders, I didnt feel I was "proving" myself as a good rider unless I rode the harder bikes (nowerdays thats arguable) I guess it just stuck. Backgren
then you look at the BIU worlds, where the master riders suck in relation to the Elites :- well, thats just BIU, not real life... in UCI its pretty much the same, and when just riding i cant say mod or stock riders are generally better/worse. As for a toxsin 24", that wouldn't be a bad idea. There are not many brands to chose from if you ride 24, but on the other hand not as many people ride 24" as normal stock or mod bikes. Dan Clark
Matt's 24" would ride a lot nicer if the cranks turned.

merseytrial
I think there's more of a market for an Alu 24" - Curtis and Leeson have the steel market fairly well covered. Whilst a cheaper one might be nice I think Alu would be a better choice Jon Agreed (Y) ime going to design the external view of the frame with no geo. clarky. p.s piks will be up l8er. EDIT: i think the frame should have a very stiff rear end and be made out of t6 alu, the geo should be around 1050. clarky Is right man!! Nice letterin too. heres my idea for a nice street 24" frame......no copying (Y) Its like a 2006 pashley come back! The geo sounds spot on but I think It would have to be a bit longer for the taller peeps. looks mint dow (Y) The only 24" I have seen that I thought was truely stunning was the one I saw Matt Staples riding at the nbr comp, it was beautiful.
