crackedonza
hey, i ride a mod, i keep snapping chains. I run Kmc kools, the nice wide burly ones, is there a stronger chain? or how long are these supposed to last on a trials bike. The last one lasted about 3 months, seriously damn hurt when that went! i dont undo and redo the chain, they are only joined once and thats when its bought. and ideas????? joshywa
if it would fit around a rear 12 tooth cog then try a bmx chain (big burly ones) it might withstand abit more punishment even if it weighs abit >_<
narrowbars
Maybe you had a faulty kmc kool chain? I have run them for years without any problems. I try and change them every few months though. The khe collapse chain is surposed to be strong alough I have never used one. I would say stick with kool chain and change them every so often. Trials Dave
make sure your chain isnt too tight as well. if it is then imagine how tight it is when a tight spit goes through.
Swize
Where does it keep snapping are you running a split link? Are you running the chain super tight ? Sam
PaRtZ
just dont go shadow conspiracy. Looks ace, and is soo adjustable but isn't designed for trials >_< Id just get another kool. Ask your LBS to fit it so that then you'll know if it is your chain tool or riding style that keeps snapping them
crackedonza
i run the chain quite slack, i dont run a link pin, yea the last one i got a bike shop to put on when the rebuilt my rear wheel, the rear sprocket is about a year old with some wear on it and my eno is still as fresh as ever, will this make a difference?? Martin
i think its either a faulty chain or your running it to tight. there are other chains like the shadow or a half link chain called like a YBN chain or somthing, most burly BMX chains should work for a KMC is a bmx chain ^_^
