Thom
well I got rid of my magura and front v. I like it much better now, its only a digit 5 at the back but its working alright, should be sweet when I get some ultimates. XT levers and bb7 front. Any comments are welcome! Siders77
That looks pretty damn nice. There's something about it that makes it look sexy! Nice one. :turned:
Endohopper
Your bicycle looks great , and I have no critcism of your new brakes , however you seem to be running a full range MTB cassette . Uneccesarily heavy , and having found a front chainring you're happy with , you can fine tune variations with a smaller ( and lighter ) road cassette . Better still , go singlespeed , even lighter and totally hassle free , less cables etc . Only downside - high class competitions DO require working gears . Neat bike , dude . mash65
Very nice. What saddle is that? edit: nevermind, found it How much :turned: Is it possible to buy one? (in the UK) Edited October 17, 2005 by mash65
Thom
Thanks for all the comments. I've been meaning to get get a new cassette for ages but I felt that other parts were more important so its kinda been pushed down the 'to buy' list. It will definitely be the next thing i buy though. Regarding the booster I don't really feel any flex at the moment, felt heaps with maguras but its not too bad with the v's. I'm getting ultimates soon so it should be even stiffer. mash65 My seat is a BBB which is almost exactly the same as the serfas but with chromo rails. It's still pretty light and it cost less so I choose the BBB. I'm not sure if you can buy it from the UK (i'm from Aus) but here's the link: BBB
orangezero
Not bad but i used to ride with a rear v brake and now i ride with a magura and i prefer the magura more. But its how you want to ride.
Thom
yeah its mainly preference, altough i think with v mounts its best to stick with using v brakes.
cp101
You can adjust v-brakes to be rather powerful. Lenosky used V-brakes..they worked for him..and he's a giant of a man.
JonPace
I would suggest that you angle your bars further forward. Just try it, it'll improve the feel of the bike completely and make you better instantly. I am pretty sure you won't regret doing it. Luke Drewery
I am surprised but I really like your bike, looks like it would be an awesome street machine. I think you should angle your bars forward though as mentioned above, it will look and feel better then. I have a 185mm avid mechainical on the front with an xtr lever and fibrax cable and its been mint from day one. (Y)
